AC excellence in Tier 4?

Hey guys, I've read a couple threads about this, but opinions seem to be all over and seem a tad outdated. I'me currently at the cusp of 28 and am hoarding my money to by a full set of Pristine Forged FeySTEEL Vanguard. The stats are insane! Before I shell out that kind of cash though, I wanted to know if player crafted Feysteel is the absolute pinnacle of Tier 4 armor. I'm looking for something I can equip at lvls 30-40, though I'm not opposed to waiting if there is some quested/dropped set I can equip shortly after. Any advice? If I can get away with spending 50gp on a set, instead of 2.5plat, I'd be happy. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I got a full set of Pristine Forged Feyiron Vanguard armor for 5gp on Antonia Bayle. Not sure what the prices are like on your server. I don't think it would really matter that much though. Just like in real life, it's all in who you know. Personally I would never spend 2.5p on anything mostly because I don't have that kind of cash. 50gp seems really REALLY high though. I plan on wearing my Feyiron armor till 40 and it's served me well. Never had problems tanking, and like I said for 5gp you really can't beat that.

<DIV>In general questing/dropped stuff is usually equippable in mid tier lvls. The mid 30s usually are either silvril or the RE quested armor which isn't all that hard to obtain. If I were you I'd keep my money for ebon clusters.</DIV>

Thanks for the replies guys...food for thought. Scar: On Everfrost, Feyiron goes for about 3-5gp per piece...not sure about weapons/shield/jewelry yet, but it seems more expensive than your server. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Fortunately, the recent changes have motivated a whole new generation of armorers...perhaps the prices will shift by the time I'm buying.So if I'm reading right, I should probably get Feyiron at 30, until I can upgrade to quested/dropped like Sivril in the mid 30's. That ebon armor makes me want to cry...I'm considering lvling an armorer to 50 in order to make it myself. Prices on my server are about 10pp for each piece!!!

Something to ask yourself is this; how much time are you going to be spending in your 30's? 30's seem to be a very very important level range. I opted to craft a full suit of Feysteel simply because I plan on being in my 30's a LONG LONG WHILE doing heritage quests, beating the socks off of Nek Castle, etc..Since I planned on being 30 for a huge time, I figured why not go all the way to the top?Feysteel is amazing armor and looks great.
