<DIV>Seem like an oblvious money sink to anyone else?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank god i reached 40 before this happened or id have a complete set of useless armor i had to attune for 1 level. Even so, i bought a full set of fulginate, which im wearing now, that needs to be attuned. That's fine except that i only bought it to use until i got some of the level 40+ dropped and quested armor, like the grass lined leggings.. and some of the ebon/rubicite drops. Now im gonna hafta take a big hit when selling them back to the store when im done, and guildies lose out on hand me down, slightly worn, plate pieces.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The other side of this is the jewlery, most is trash, and cheap and/or easy enough to get yourself, but take into example the Slayer rings. I've seen these sell for upwards of 2 plat, and now i have to attune it, when its blue. Even if i was gonna use this til 50, I feel like i lose out on 2 plat that i had sitting on my char, unless i sell it now before i attune it, but while its still very useable for a few more levels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This isn't an "I'm quitting i hate SoE" post, just stateing my thoughts, and looking for some advice from the higher level zerkers/plate wearers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My question is, are there any plate pieces equipable at lvl 40 readily available at the broker, that are better at 50 then fulginate, that i can buy and attune now, so i can still sell some of my fulginate peices before i attune them to actually go out and fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for any input, good or bad, on this topic. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

you can sell attuned items back to vendors now....

Most armor, weapons, and jewelry (I have heard in another post that it's all of these that give stat bonuses) are attunable now, yes. This was not done to be a money-sink (although I'm sure SOE won't mind if it becomes one) but to help provide and keep a market for crafters. Previously nearly all weapons, armor, and jewelry that was crafted or dropped stayed in the game and was either re-sold to other players or handed down. This created an ever-increasing supply of gear that newer crafters had to compete with. Moreover, as time went by, rare stuff would become less and less rare as previously-gained items stayed in the game.Like it or not it <i>does</i> fit in with the apparent design of the game.
Yeah, this is great news for crafters, but man, it's going to hurt my pocket book. Instead of investing in equipment now, I'm throwing away huge chunks of gold with no hope of ever seeing it again. This is going to make me very cautious about upgrading from now on. I will not be willing to buy something that has a small boost, nor will I buy something that is not orange to me.

By this I mean I have no desire to take up a crafting skill never have in any MMORPG never will. In all previous MMORPG there is a nice way for pure combat peopelt o make a nice living. Yes I know and I do sell raw materials on the market but I also madea nice chunk of money selling items I got through quests or as loot that I did not wnat or could use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now as a previous person has stated people are going to be much more cautious and frugal inw hat they buy. Cause as this person said you are going to lose 75%-90% of your money inveted when you sell back to the vendor. What will likely happen is that the prices for some items will go down overtime, because of the wariness shown of overspending for those items in the past. that will drive prices down initially and they should stabilize in time. At the moment, everything on the broker is pretty overpriced, due to both ignorance and gouging. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now if you are an armorer, unless your are near the top end in levels, you aren't making a whole lot of money, because the low level market is a) saturated with hand-me-downs and b) forced to compete with Armor Quests. My 20's armorer is sitting on the bench right now because no one wanted to buy his carbonite armor items and costs to manufacture were higher than the TS vendor will buy back on (prepatch. tempers were selling for 2s and it takes 8 or so to make a piece cost > 16s; vendor pays 12s).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> by removing some of these armor bits, I may be able to level up my armorer in to the 30's+ where his wares will have better potential for sales. hopefully the new crafting stuff may help as well</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>maybe some of the rarer items will be left alone to be handed down. If you worked your butt off, made some gp, saved for good armor you are basically punished by this patch (not intentionally but its still there). Losing the instrinsic value of nice items you have worked for is extremely disappointing, it really is a kick in the gutt.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That being said it does help tradeskillers and the world will go on.</DIV>
I don't know about the rest of you but I've been getting tons of cash drops. I get turtle shells in EL every 4 or 5 fights as opposed to every 4 or 5 days before, plus I get chests almost as freqently and getting 50 silver drops in them. So, we have lost a source of income by not being able to sell our armor, but the source of silver coming in from cash drops has been increased. It's a wash.
