<DIV>Hey guys I dinged lvl 30 with my serker yesterday and just got back from a group in Runnyeye and found out I have a lot to learn so I decided to ask for some advice on tanking there...  Our group was</DIV> <DIV>30 serker</DIV> <DIV>29 monk</DIV> <DIV>31 templar</DIV> <DIV>34 wizard</DIV> <DIV>33 ranger</DIV> <DIV>32 coercer</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>pretty close to that anyways</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Basically I really had trouble juggling tanking skills and offense skills, because unfortunately my 1 hander is piercing which my skill was only at like 120 in so I couldn't hit anything and was relying on skills to keep aggro most of the time, which meant berserking which lowered my defense which wasn't good when all the mobs we were figthing were orange-red to me.  So basically I want to know what are the best skills to keep up when tanking mobs 5+ levels above you.  I was experimenting with Weapon Shield, Soldier's Stance, and Stifled Rage, and switching between the 1hander and shield & my 2hander.  I found it really hard to keep aggro using the 1hander + shield if I wasn't using skills that made me berserk.  It was really bad, definately the most I've ever lost aggro, or even seen another tank lose aggro.  If I used a 2 hander and as much berserking as possible I kept aggro great, but sometimes I would be dead at the end of the fight.  Most of my skills are App4+ (have no adept 3 or master 1s though) and my gear is probably average for my level.  It could be better, but I am having trouble finding pristine forged feyiron armor even though I have the money for it.  Eventually we had to evac while killing clay dudes, the Clay Insurgent? or whatever he was called with his buddies killed us because we unwittingly used a AoE HO which broke all the mezzes.  Well he actually only killed the wizzy, I got killed but was rezzed a half second before the evac went off.  It was really good xp I got like 25% of a level in like an hour and a half (vitality helped of course).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So what skills are junk and what skills are the real deal?</DIV>

<DIV>Well, you're kind of low to tank the insurgent encounter for starters, especially with 1 healer.  As for configuration, you should stick to sword & shield, you need all the defense you can get with red ++.  Your job is to tank, dont worry about offense.  Just make sure you keep up your group buffs and fury, use your taunts (enrage makes you berserk anyway) & group buffs to keep aggro, dont use the balloks challenge training skill, its broke - doesnt taunt.  Keep up soldier stance & focus rage, dont worry about ws.  Stifled rage is to reduce aggro, dont use it.  Same with hunker down.  Use maul a lot, its an offense debuff.  Oh and at 30, if your still wearing any of your l20 AQ armor, hang your head in shame <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Back to the clays for a second... they sometimes experience an aggro reset bug when one dies, so its not uncommon to have them all over the place, another reason level is important.  Just a couple more will make a huge difference for you in there.</DIV>

<DIV>Nope not wearing any AQ armor :smileytongue: .  Is Ballok's Challenge the Enrage upgrade training?  Because thats the one I picked :smileysad:</DIV>

<DIV>There are 2 Ballok's ... the single target and the encounter shout.. it's the single target that is broken, the shout works great.  I have both, and hope they fix the single target, every chance to berserk is golden.  Stunning cry is cool though, I like interrupts.</DIV>

<DIV>all of the above...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And Havoc - takes a little while to cast, but the benefits of throwing up this buff in combat are immense. Huge aggro generation, its probably my best 'taunt' <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Very good for Runnyeye.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Jherad</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

30 for runnyeye is low. The mobs hit very hard. At 34 I don't have a problem with taunting just the amount of damage I am taking. It keeps those healers very busy.
