Was fighting in RoV the other day... with a 30 monk, 29 wizard, 29 ranger, and 2 healers. The monk and I took turns playing MT... turns out the Monk generally was better (Because of the dodges, but when he was hit, it hurt him bad)... either way, monks are a DECENT tank, make no mistake. Especially when they pop up their self bufs for defense.Ok, onto the DPS. I was using a Maul which dealt 33-96 dmg 2.5 sec.My "average" DPS against ^^Yellow and ^^Orange Clay Guardians in RoV was ~45-50DPS.The Monk was, on average 50-55dps.Ranger was, on average 38-45dps.The Wizard would vary wildly (he stated sometimes he'd use Stuns instead of Damage attacks, and when he did, I noticed the monk and my DPS go up significantly)... but he ranged from ~35-44dps.Once I dinged 30, I never did below 45dps to the mobs, and had upwards of 62-70dps at various points (mostly when the wizard was using stuns).Furthermore, I NEVER... EVER, lost agro as the MT. (Bloodlust up or not).... were not nerfed ... I will add, at the same location from lvl 24->27 I believe the problem was I was too low for the level of the mobs (lvls 29-33, and the named at lvl 34). -- Coz

I want to add...Buffed, I had 2400HP, 1650ac... I would take from 188->606 dmg from the guardians... indicated, however, my health didn't drop by 25% (like when hit by 600dmg), so, there "appears" to be some mitigation of damage whats indicated "You are hit for xxx" and what you actually take. However, I tried the EXACT same mobs with my Shiny Metalic Shield, which gave me an extra 420ac, pushing me to ~2050AC, popped Havoc, and Toughness (of course, my Battle Tactics, etc..buffs were on for all fighter), pushing me to ~2250 ac... And the difference? I took >>>> EXACTLY <<<< the same amount of damage, and, infact, more damage, because I had to use my crappy 1h weapon which dealt 16->55 dmg... So, my DPS dropped a LOT, and my damage was the same.It APPEARS that AC has little impact impact on the damage taken as a zerker... as it stands, my shield is up for sale, as it does nothing to help my defenses.

I'll add one more thing <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />The BEST group (which, thank God I was in for about 6 hours with the same people!! Great bunch of guys)...We the healers, I didn't list about... 1 was a Fury, the other was a Warden.... Not your traditional "Inquisitor/Templar" types... And man, we just smoooked the entire clay room area in Rov (Pulling from both sides when the other multi-mob side wasn't occupied), and still cleaned both rooms and had to sit around for a few minutes, or search the hallway for mobs... Needless to say, going from 28->30 in 8 hours was pretty impressive...That, and everyone played their rolls, and ASSISTED me on each mob... In all that time, the ONLY time anyone died (and it was me), was because the TemplarClay (lvl 34 named) popped on me as I was searching for mobs in the empty room, and the group was at 30% mana or so-- was an unexpected encounter... They came back down and rez'd me, and we continued.. that was the ONLY death we encounted, and it was only because the TemplarClay spawned as a roaming mob in the room instead of a stationary mob (now I press tab a few times before entering)

Lol.. I'll add (yet another) comment...I tested 3(4) weapons:My Mace 33-96 dmg 2.5 sec (upgraded this morning to a Maul which is 33-98 dmg 2.4sec, but has +2 more agi than the mace)My ball-on-a-stick weapon (forget its name) 46-146dmg 3.7 sec.And my 2 DW weapons, 10-29 1.6 sec + 9-28 1.5 sec.... The best weapon you might ask? The Mace 33-96 2.5 sec according to the parser...The worst DPS? The DW weapons. Most mana used? When using the DW weapons.Or...maybe I just need some better DW weapons... but I'm broke <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I posted on here a while back stating I was going to quit my zerger, but am here to sing a different toon.Last night I said [Removed for Content]and logged my 28 zerger cuz guild asked me to. Here was our group:26 Bard (forget his subclass)28 Zerger = Me28 Inquis30 Necro30 Fury33 WizzardVery ugly looking group. Went out to EL and the wizards says, "what the heck lets go do runneye". I tell him okay but we are going to die. Well even with the Wizard and Necro nuking like mad hitting 400-600+ I didn't lose aggro. These mobs were 8-10 levels higher then me. We also ran around EL because it was getting somewhat crowded in RE, where we found similar high level mobs. With two healers there was little to no down time, and again still no problem holding aggro. The damage is still somewhat disappointing, but I would occasionally be second on the list after an encounter (freaking wizzard pwned). If this gets better as I get leveled then I can live with it for now. Even though they should rename the toon I still had fun and will continue to play. Well at least until the next nerf hehehhe.

Just out of interest...Have you ever grouped with a Guardian? I'm not saying that your DPS is good or bad. Just that the Guardians I do group with generally push out about 55-60dps when parsed with Statalyzer - Admittedly I can match this, but I'd hardly say we outdamage them enough to compensate our lack of defensive buffs. If we're going to claim extra DPS as our benefit, it ought to actually be something substantial.31 Berserker.

I grouped with a guardian one level higher than me a couple of nights ago and he was doing 60dps every single fight with a 2 handed weapon. I had a similar 2 handed weapon and the best I could do was about 45. He was the MA, I don't know why I was sucking so badly compared to him. Then last night I was in a group with a guardian 1 level lower than me and he was doing about 15dps while I was doing about 25, this time I was the MA. I don't see any reason for such a huge difference here. That guard from the other night had the best DPS I've ever seen in person so far. He outdamage the wizards, rangers, and rogues that came and went from that group. So he was one level higher than me doing 60dps, as soon as I dinged, I got the exact same weapon he had, Prist Carb [Removed for Content] Sword, and checked my DPS again, the best I could do was still only about 45dps. I don't understand it at all.

Kelle this might be a noob question, but how do you check dps? from the hits you make or?There are parser programs out there that, while you are running the EQ2 game it actively parsers your log file. Then at the end of the fight you can just past the results of your last fight. It is an excellent way to test your equipment. Someone will have a link or just search for parse, you will find it.

<DIV>It's nice to see somebody do these tests without any whining. Thanks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>...BUT, unless everybody in the comparison are the same level with the same STR, same ATK and using the same type of weapon (1h, 2h or dw) with the same damage/delay, how accurate are these class dps comparisons?</DIV>
