<DIV> <DIV>Greetings follow Berserkers! :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am now level 26th and have a few questions in order to be a better Zerker. Also for those thinking of becoming a Zerker but might be scared off from all the rants... please keep reading this post.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Weapons...</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>Should I be using a 2handed weapon or stay with duel wield?</DIV> <DIV>Yah I know, this one has been asked to death. I have always been duel wield since I got the skill to do so, love jumping into battle swinging two weapons at once. Thing is... everytime I see a Zerker he/she are using a 2H weapon... makes me wonder if maybe I am doing somthing wrong.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Currently using 2 'Gaint Pick-Axe' which has that huge STR bonus, even more so with two of them. Plus I really like the graphics on these... just look evil IMO. These together give me 34.66 DPS and give +14 STR with other ups to it. Should I be looking for diffrent weapons at 26th, should I go to two handed weapons? Does our skills relay on our weapon damage? Using that combat stats monitor thingy, on average my DPS is 45-55</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For those much higher in levels... I am currently keep my slashing and piercing maxed out, should I also keep my crushing skill maxed too? Is there any sweet crush weapons at higher levels? Am I wasting time keeping my piercing skill maxed?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Skills...</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>At one time there where posts in regards to the skill/spell bonus being app1 = 0, app2 = +1, app3 = +2 and adept1 = +3.</DIV> <DIV>Whats the deal with app4s? are they a waste of coins? they are the same price if not higher then adept1's but easier to find. Also should I still be using skills that are gray? I like using 'hold the line' when I am tanking to keep the argo on me, is there some sort of negitive effect or work less when skills are gray?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Being a poor trollie... what skill or skills should I invest tons of money into and buy adept3 or master for?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Groups...</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>When I group... 8 out of 10 times I am main tank and take a huge beating for a living *chuckles*</DIV> <DIV>What role do must of you do in a group? DPS, tank or back up tank? Any tips or comments on how to best serve your group? I keep taunts going non-stop and buffs up then always make sure everything is beating on me and not the others. Should I go from 2 weapons to 1 weapon and shield? Would a nice shield make that much of a difference to the poor healer trying to keep me alive? Is it worth the drop in damage? When I am not main tank... I have a problem with the argo going to me, any tricks to keep the argo off me when I am not tanking? heck I am even using adept 1 hunker down that drops the argo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Quests...</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>I have all 6 AQ's and even did the pristine shard collection quest. At this time I am working on the unoffical AQ7 for the Spindlecog helmet. (Talk to the tinkerer inside the babbershire bank to start quest, seek and destory quest for TS)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there any other quests that would give me sweet Zerker items at 26th? Any quests that any of you would recommened me doing? Is there other AQ's at higher levels? Any quests for earrings, belts, rings, weapons or bows that would be good at my level to use?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alright, enough questions :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For those reading the the forums and racking your brains on the old question <STRONG>"Do I want to be a Berserker or Guardian?"</STRONG></DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV>Well everytime you hit level 19th its a very hard chose to make for your final class. With this one I would like to say a few things...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I first picked berserker because SoE told me that this class was all out damage and low defense, this was me all the way... who cares about defense when you can drop the enemy before it can attack you. Now that we have been nerfed left and right this has changed abit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have grouped with Guardians before and have compared myself to them all the time, what did I find? We are close to being the same thing but yet different. I hold argo MUCH better, my damage is a little higher then his and he takes a little less damage then I do. I would suggest looking at what skills both classes get and go from there. try this link for a complete list of spells and skills...</DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/skills.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/skills.php</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>About the monk thing... yes the monks and bruisers do a little more damage then us, they hit light but very fast. On the other hand they cant take damage like we can. The caster thing, yes they are supose to out damage us. thats a nuker for you and it should always be that way. Yes the scout class can do some wicked damage sometimes that way out number us, thats because they stick em in the back side. Classes are not about damage output alone, it is about everything rolled into one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Compare the classes and make you final chose on YOU alone not rants and whines or bragging. How do you want to deal damage? fire a nuke? back stabbing? taking large amounts of damage? hitting light and fast? going battle crazy like a Zerker? each class has there good thing and there bad thing. <FONT color=#ffcc00>Yes I get VERY [Removed for Content] off each time my class gets nerfed but I still love being a Berserker no matter what.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Out of my 3 characters my berserker is by far the most fun ever! Its the way I play the game that makes this class fun, its not about stats or numbers... its all about me running, then jumping into a middle of a large mass of monsters swinging my weapons going berserk wanting to see the bodies flying! Letting the blood lust carry me away to victory, not caring about dieing or being hurt... as long as I can get one more hit in to let them know they messed with the wrong class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also... in the future ALL classes will get nerfed, get ignored, get broken and then get fixed. Dont make your chose on what is nerfed/broke now... please make your chose on what would be fun for you to do in the game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At level 19th... I was thinking fighter class was just OK, kind of boring, somewhat drab, not really sure if this is what I wanted to stick with or not but then I hit level 20th and got that class name of BERSERKER and even since I want nothing else then to be a Zerker. I have more fun with being Zerker then some other classes, my DPS is great compared to the other tanks and about average to theres. I dont see a major difference at 26th between the melee classes, only different ways of helping the group and different ways of fighting. As a Zerker, finding a group has never been hard and have always been able to find groups be it AQ or exp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alright, thats it for me :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just wanted everyone to know there is at least one Berserker out there that would <U>NOT</U> trade his class for anything in the world. If SoE give us some way of changing our classes, I would pick Berserker again and again and again and again and again...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff9900 size=4><STRONG>I dont want high AC, I dont want a horse, I dont want nukes, I dont want to change my form, I dont want heal spells, I dont want cool monk robes...</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff3300 size=4><STRONG><FONT size=5>I WANT TO BERSERK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BATTLE!!!</FONT></STRONG></FONT></DIV></DIV><p>Message Edited by RedCorvus on <span class=date_text>01-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:28 PM</span>

I am a little bit confused with your reply.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EQII does have a berserker class and each battle I berserk between 2 to 4 times, depending on how long the fight lasts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or are you trolling or flame hungry?</DIV> <DIV>If so please head else wheres as I dont want either, I was only trying to get some insight from follow zerkers on some questions I had, to post something <U><STRONG><FONT color=#ffcc00 size=3>positive</FONT></STRONG></U> and to give some inside info to those thinking of becoming a Zerker in the near future.</DIV>

<DIV>Skills are unaffected by your weapon, so 2h or DW it doesnt matter, its personal preferance, if you like DW stick with it, i prefer 2h look thats why i use it.  Ensure you have a 1h and shield though for tanking the tough stuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In groups my job varies, due to the friends i hunt with and their classes i actually play the back up tank quite often, this sadly is not half as fun or as useful as it was pre nerf, would be nice to be able to have berserk up and running at least half the time when im not MT.</DIV>

<DIV><STRONG>Thanks Asteldian!</STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In that case I am keeping my duel wield!   :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my opinion, which all of this is, I like the 2x bonus on the weapons plus I look more Zerker when I have two weapons *chuckles*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, now I have to find a good shield to use when MTing, anyone suggest a shield? Quest, drop or under 1G?</DIV>

<DIV>Cant help you there-ive never actually used a shield :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know we should and it helps with healer power but-well its the advantage of regular hunting buddies, we arent ther for the xp grind, we arent trying to max our efficiency, we dont care we just want to have fun, and most things i fight arent yellow ^^ or orange, they are usually whatever it is we need for whatever quest we are doing  :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe if i found a decent looking pair of DW weapons i'd use them, but ive mostly experienced silly looking daggers or toothpick type weapons, really not what i want my zerker running round with :smileytongue:</DIV>

<DIV>Not sure what drops the gaint pick-axe or even what zone it comes from.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I brought mine off the broker for 1G each. Blue con at level 26th but they are great weapons for duel wield IMO plus they look great.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just keep surfing the broker or maybe someone could drop us a hint where or what drops these :smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>Despite Popular opinion and belief, the Zerkers PRIMARY roll is to Main Tank.  To that end you should always have a good 1 hander and a tower shield.  They healers in the group will love you for it.  Only time to break out the duel wield is when your not main tanking, or when kill speed is more inportant, like in a timed quest fight.  In a group that has a Zerker and a Gaurdian with close to the same AC, Zerker should always tank with the Gaurdian backing them up.</DIV>
