View Full Version : If our DPS drops so much, can we have something back like a little defense boost?
<DIV>From the developer's posts, seems that the only difference between Guardians and Berserkers is that we can do probably 5% more damage than guardians.And for the 5% more DPS, our defense abilities are lowered by 5%.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem is that, the mobs hit much harder than players.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the 5% drop in defensive abilities, we receive much higher damages from the mobs. </DIV> <DIV>5% * Mob' DPS >> 5% Guardian/Berserker DPS</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And because of the steep parry/block rate difference caused by few levels of defensive abilities, the total damages we receive can be much higher than guardians, typically >> 5%. (According to the combatstats parser)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now a lvl 40 berserker happily does 25% more damage than a wizard/warlock, and 15% more than a scout.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The reason it gets fixed is because sony doesnt want to see all groups consisting of 3 or more zerkers, and some healer/support slap-on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you think really really hard about it, you will see why zerker damage is getting reduced abit.</DIV>

If you think they havn't noticed the damage you can do at higher levels as a beserker your kidding yourself. I wouldn't doubt that if what is said is true about the damage a high level beserker can do compared to others is true that the "Great Balancer" (ie. magical nerf bat) will swing strong and true and we will have the higher level beserkers getting mad.</P> <P><BR> </P>

Mages do a different TYPE of damage, they do Elemental damage, so they should be fixing the MONSTERS ability to TAKE damage, Scouts use LIGHT WEAPONS, their specialty is stealth, suprise, use a bow and arrow from yon ridge to take out a select few guys.</DIV> <DIV><BR>However...and this is where OUR class comes in, Berzerkers are HUGE, ANGRY, AXE Wielding MANIACS that wade into the enemy regardless of their numbers or how well armed they are or how much metal they personally are wearing! We do HEAVY PHYSICAL Damage to a LARGE group of people! If you wan't to argue that Mages fireball spells aren't doing enough damage then tweak the spell or the resistances of the various NPC's to that spell. Can't have a scout scouting out ahead and taking out one member of a group now can we? No because he'd end up training across the zone, that means we need to fix the way NPC's draw Group Aggro, you dont just get out your Nerf Bat and take it to the One class that's doing as they are supposed to be doing! </DIV>

Cause zerkers are just offensive tanks, with no utility funtions. Aggro bumps like hell which tends to suck the power of all healers, and makes it the busiest day they have ever dreamed. A bad pull can just wipe the whole group out if no scouts or wizards are present.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If zerker is not offensive, then why even does it exist?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If offensive doesn't mean damage, then what the hell is offense?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
