<DIV>I've come to a realization that the Bruiser class is too much of a non-dominate role and is not required for any groups. Want damge? go with a caster/scout.. Want tank, go with a guard/zerker.. Want healer, go with a priest.. that leaves bruisers/monks/sk/pally as [Removed for Content] classes! Can't tank, can't DPS, etc.. Well sure bruisers an tank to a point, but why not just get a real tank? Anyway!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm going to reroll my 33 bruiser into a Zerker so that I can have a more dominate role in the game, and maybe more players will seek me for groupage (though that wasn't too much of a problem). What I need to know is.. what are the best lvl 10-20 skills, and what are the best lvl 20-30 skills.. Reason is, I have a good pile of gold to spend on adept3 skills. Thanks for any help. Hopefully by chrismas I can make lvl 30 again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Hmm best skills to upgrade to Adept III...IMO:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>10-20: Wound, Mangle, and to a lesser extent Kneebreak are your bread and butter special attacks, and will continue to be used until you replace them in your mid- to upper-20s. Soldier's Stance is your best overall defense ability at this level and likewise will be useful for a long time as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>20-30: First and foremost Blood Rage. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Maul and Vicious Blow are the upgrades to Mangle and Wound respectively, and will be your new bread and butter single-target attacks. Also I would upgrade Havoc since it makes quite a big difference in your defensive abilities. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bloodlust is the source of our insane aggro but I don't think it needs to be upgraded to Adept III or even Apprentice III (I think all upgrading it does is increase the amount of the group skill buff, which is basically only a side effect of what it's really used for). Upgrading your taunts (Anger single target and Enrage multi-target) is optional since Berserkers literally don't need them at all to keep aggro currently, but it couldn't hurt (if nothing else for Bloodlust nerf insurance heh).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That said, I think you will find that there really aren't any classes that "dominate" the tanking role (if I am understanding you correctly), or at least there aren't intended to be.</DIV>

<DIV>taunting blow would be a good adept 3 skill aswell, since i have never gotten a taunt skill on that timer.</DIV>

<DIV>I did the exact same thing, except i dropped my SK to make a zerker. Best move i ever made. I agree with gettin wound and mangle bu t i wouldent waste the adept3 component on soldiers stance, the small gain just wouldent be worth it  imo. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit - with AE taunt, Single target taunt and a variety of group buffs plus bloodlust, i really dont feel that establishing aggro is in any way, shape or form enough of an issue to warrant useing an adept 3 component on a taunt. </DIV><p>Message Edited by jhessal69 on <span class=date_text>12-15-2004</span> <span class=time_text>02:47 PM</span>

<DIV>I wouldnt go dismissing the other tank classes, well, admittedly monk is too reliant on luck due to avoidance beign the key, but the pallies i've been with are more than capable of tanking and keeping aggro, its just that like EQ1 a bad pally is VERY noticable</DIV>

<DIV>snap,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>just my 2 cp, but i would hold out a bit longer on the bruiser action.  A) they are quite significant on how much damage they can dish out in combo w/ their ability to take damage.  granted, the mitigation isn't anything like a guardian, but much better than a scout and decent damage to boot.  2) i heard in the winds somewhere that there is a dmg mitigation patch going out soon for brawlers specifically.  i cannot attest to how major these changes are, but i'm sure they have tested them enough to warrant the update.  3) it is just too soon right now in both the function of individual classes and group dynamics to really know what is working significantly better than other classes.  must give it time... and just try and enjoy what u have right now.  if you read the class boards, every single class out there is crying wolf.  by changing to berzerker i'm sure there will be plenty for you to gripe about.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>in summary, find enjoyment in what u have now instead of looking for the green grass... unless you are REALLY fed up... then perhaps, try another class.  have fun!</DIV>

<DIV>Means making a new character.  There is no option to take your current character and make him into something different. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So he will be starting at level 1 again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>His items and money can possibly be transfered to a friend/other account and given to his new toon to help though</DIV>

<DIV>Chasing after the fotm class is sorta like chasing after the the latest fotm stock...by the time you get in the new class has lost its appeal/been nerfed or the one you left has been improved with patches.  They've addressed issues for some classes.  I'm sure they'll get to tank parity fairly soon.  It's also pretty cool playing an unpopular class.  Who wants to be a fotm wiz/guard/zerk like the other 100+ on /who</DIV>

I have enough RL stuff going to that i dont need to make a martyr out of myself because i choose to play an unpopular class. You go right ahead tho, and i wish you the best and hope you have fun with it .

I actually think it's doing well for what it's intended: a mix of dps and tankage.. Obviously you can't get the best of both worlds or the game won't be balanced... So in essense, bruisers have decent DPS but you can't out DPS a scout... And a bruiser has decent tank abilities but they are paper compared to guardians.</P> <P>So I'm re-rolling not because I don't like what bruisers have to off, but because of the group issue. I have rarely had anyone ask me to join their group when I have my LFG tag up. Moreso, I've virtually created 90% of the groups I play in.  And because I create so many grind groups every day, I know what classes I like in my group and what classes I will only take when deserpate to fill a slot. </P> <P>With that said, an ideal group <STRONG>NEEDS </STRONG>a warrior tank, 2 healers (or 1 healer and 1 chanter), and an evacer preferibly a bard for buffs. The  rest of the slots are filled with DPS which can be any of the mage/scout/brawler classes. That is the ideal group. So when I say I want to play a more dominate role, I want to be something that the group needs: Tank, priest, bard.. I don't want to be DPS assessory.. and when I look for dps, the last class I look for are the brawlers.. first is mages </P> <P> </P><p>Message Edited by snapgorth on <span class=date_text>12-16-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:01 PM</span>
