View Full Version : back :) and need some advice!
<DIV>heya all, after a long time im back, i been out of the game for a bunch of months and on november i came back but i been playing my ranger, so its been like 10 months where my guardian been sitting down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now my ranger is about to hit 100 AA and im missing some of the tank good parts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When i cant get a tank for a group or when the tank i get sucks.. makes me mad.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So i decided to gear backup Axor and have it to play instances with friends and so...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Many things changed, i left him on buckler AA's and with MITA focused gear, now all this is crap and im very lost.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I saw that post about AA and i like that there is not a must choice of AA making every guardian diferent, by now im going STR INT for a good agro managing... we will see how this works out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My main concern is about gear.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I been told that once you hit 6k is the softcap of the new system of dismishing returns, so as far as you are 6k mita in a group or a raid you should focus on avoidance....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is that right ? i think im sitting now on 4600 ish mita and 7100 avoidance by self, with my own buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My idea was to get my AGI up a lot since its like 110 ( being a d0rf sucks sometimes ), losing for that matter a bunch of mitigation from jewlery, i think i can get like 150 agi from jewlery switching from all my mita jewlery to collections of EoF.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>About the mita it will raise once i get him a set of doomrage or relic armor from the raids of my guild, he is wearing KoS gear pre raid and some T6 gear, so most pieces are 460-480 mita instead of the 530ish of that doomrage or relic one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ok so now my questions :</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Doomrage or Relic? what pieces are better of each ?</DIV> <DIV>- Agi > Sta > mita ? that sounds right ?</DIV> <DIV>- Whats the new cap of skills like parry defense etc? how much importance should i give them ?</DIV> <DIV>- Is there anything im missing or any tip you think would help me gear back my tank?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks to the comunity, one of the things i missed more in all that time, was this comunity and the helpfull you always been.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>/cheer to oldies.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Axor on <span class=date_text>01-08-2007</span> <span class=time_text>01:33 AM</span>

<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Doomrage or Relic? what pieces are better of each ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just working from memory here....</DIV> <DIV>Helm: More or less the same. Doomrage has a little self ward you can hit sometimes</DIV> <DIV>BP: Doomrage, but relic will get the job done in general</DIV> <DIV>Shoulders: Doomrage, clearly, but the claymore shoulders are also very usable.</DIV> <DIV>Bracers: I'm using the doomrage over relic because of the parry. Relic has better of most everythign else.</DIV> <DIV>Gloves: Relic</DIV> <DIV>Leggings: Used to be the same.. I'm looking for Doomrage now cause of the def.</DIV> <DIV>Boots: More or less the same</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The three I see as really worth going out of your way for are the BP, shoudlers, and leggings. For the rest it's not a huge difference. Well, you want the relic gloves probably, as the doomrage are only legendary (but nice at that <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Agi > Sta > mita ? that sounds right ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Erm... depends on what you're doing. Pushing anything too far probably isn't the way to go. When I'm raid tanking, currrently I'm looking for something in the ballpark of 6k mit, then I generally worry about avoidance. HP seem to more or less take care of themselves. I'd push whichever is lower of agi or sta (almost certainly agi at this point), and don't neglect getting decent resists across the board if possible. With the huge nerf of resits on existing gear, this may be an issue, but there is a lot of nice resist stuff available in EoF.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Whats the new cap of skills like parry defense etc? how much importance should i give them ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There was a dev post giving the exact caps vs. all mob levels. And even a few points makes a measurable difference against a level 70.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Is there anything im missing or any tip you think would help me gear back my tank?</DIV> <DIV>The only major thing is that you need to decide what you're trying to do with your guard. AA choices (the guard/zerker tree) can radiacally change the class, and how you should allocate if you intend to run small groups and/or raid w/o tanking (much) are very different from how you should set up for being the MT. There are a lot of nice hybrid builds as well, but the point remains. Take an honest look at what you're trying to do and go from there. If you want to run groups with your friends, then honestly you're probably geared well enough already. Unless your healers can't keep you up, just worry about aggro generation. Let the gear drop when it does, and take whatever looks nice <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Snorm -- 70 Guard</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></BLOCKQUOTE>
