<DIV>Any hints on tanking the end mob in Oblisk of Blight. I can't seem to be able to tank him for more then 15 secs. Group consists of Warden, Inquistor, Wizard, Warlock and Necormancer and Guardian (me). I have no problem with the rest of the zone just this guy. Seems to go through my armour like paper. My gear is not the greatest but its not horrible. Any suggestions would be welcome.</DIV>
<DIV>He summons clones of this target every bit, usually opens with it or near the beginning of the fight so throw a pet at him first. The clones are like dumbfires so they poof once they kill their target most the time. If no pet then throw stone sphere up and burn him down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>~Catulu, Everfrost</DIV>
I do the zone every day with me, my boxed shamman helaer and a wizard. Here is what i do. First, i put up 6k mental. If you look at the log, mental damage si the one that is tearing you apart. So get that as high as you can.Seccond, i put up everything i have. ToS, stone spere, the temp mit buffs, get a bolster from my shamman and then i engage. I also have my miracles handy, i went Marr, 10 stoneskins, but i rarely have to use those. As an last resort, i keep Unyielding Will up to, altho i never had it going off. But just in case, that will grand you another 35% hp for 30 secs.Imediatly after i engage, i reinforce and ask the wizzy to go full out. The mob dies in literaly 10-15 secs.

Run up and shield bash then stifle it. After the stifle burns out, Guardian Sphere, Command and then decrease casting skills. It doesn't last very long at all.<div></div>

I just let the guardian die, then tank along with the adds as i rez the guardian, rebuff him while still tanking, and then he rescues it off and we kill /shrug.Just kidding, I don't aim to do that, but it always works when it happens that way /shrug. That mob kills a lot of tanks, but we never wipe because he's so easy after that. Maybe that <u>should</u> be my strat, because it's a rough fight to solo heal, lemme tell ya.<div></div>

<DIV> i've ran this zone many times, until i got some better armor i couldnt tank this thing either, when we first started running this zone we had a monk tank it, and that worked fine but 1 or 2 in the group would die.. I also looked at the combat log and noticed that he did mental and crushing damage, i then got mental resists up and i got a couple better pieces of armor, ungrouped my mit in defensive stance sets around 4100 'around 4600 with templar' and mental resist is around 4k with a potion, we just burn him down, pretty easy actually..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>last night we ran it with a beserker, guardian, 2rangers,templar, and wizzy.. blew the guy out, 1 died.. we also do it at times with a fury, templar, guardian zerker, wizard, ranger,or swashy, this setup seemed to be the best by far, alot of dps, and kill him rather quickly, and easily..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>this zone can be ran pretty quick, just make sure the group is loaded with dps... crypt of valdoon is harder, i think.. but same goes for it... last named burn him down asap before his skellies show up...</DIV>

What I've done is...Get an Illusionist. Have them mes the clones with an AE mes and hold them till they despawn. That way you have 45 seconds of the mob unable to cast his pets again. We tried killing them at the beginning of the fight with the named mes'd but the moment we broke mes he summoned them again. Mes'ing the clones seems to work out the best. for our group.Group is:Guardian (Me)IllusionistWardenRangerInquisitorBrigand<div></div>

Did it a bit differently last night with this set up:Guard (me)MonkTroubIllusionistFury<Open> (Lowish LvL guildy dropped out)Not an ideal group at all for the instance.Tried doing it a couple different ways at various levels of success.Mezzing the named himself and killing everything else off first, does not work unless you bring a whole hell of alot more DPS than I had to burn the others down. He and the doppels break mez often and randomly. Saw it was going no where and group feigned it.Also, having a monk in the group turned out to suck something awful, he doppelgangered the monk every time, and they BURNED through HPs, not big hits, just 5000 small ones.Popped up for round two when at full health/power. Tanked the named and doppels while the monk killed all but one doppel to keep him from recasting while the chaotic servents were mezzed then burned down. Kept the named stifled/knocked down/interrupted by not chaining exactly but hitting with one or the other every other CA. Burned ToS, Sphere and a Miracle, but he went down pretty well, slowly due to lack of DPS, but well enough.<div></div>

The last guy doppledangers should die in aoe DPS just BURN the name and go to next instance. Maybe I just have not been on this guy long enough to see what people are talking about , these mental dmg that is so hard. Get a Mage have him Tank. Ask Sony they should be able to take hits. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><BR></DIV>

<DIV>Yea hes annoying but pretty easy to kill. The key is to knock out the add's he summons so aslong as you can time out ur defensive abilities/tower of stone and tab onto the adds the second they are summoned its cake. assuming of course ur group is assisting you.</DIV>

<P>ON pull Stone Sphere, then besiege, then Plant.</P> <P>DPS is Key as stated many times for this zone.</P> <P>But going in you just do the above and you will proc your Stone Sphere off Dopplegangers, then wipe them with besiege and other group AOE.</P> <P>Very easy to do, after you get the hang of it.</P>

Depending on ae dps and healing power, either ae burn the dopplergangers or directly target them to kill them even faster...the named itself doesn't do that much dps neither do the adds.<div></div>
