I just finished Rallos Zek, and got the cloak and all, but to be honest I don't see anything special in this diety. Since my guardian's from Freeport, I think evil classes have limited dieties to pick from.

Silly question here, how do I start a diety quest for lvl 55 Guard? Many thanks.

Message Edited by PsyFur on 12-20-2006 10:49 AM

I am from the qeynos side but I went Marr with a few thoughts towards Brell.Brell has some solid blessings/miracles, though some are wasted on crafting, and the mitigation ones aren't as useful as they could be.Overall, I think that Brell would be a solid choice for a Freeport tank.

Message Edited by JimmyMach on 12-20-2006 12:52 PM

Honestly, imo, this diety deal's just a waste and useless (except for the somewhat decent cloak you get). For a blessing/miracle that works for a few minutes and then a recast time of an hour...that's lame imo. Then, you have to 'sacrifice' good items in order to get 200+ of favor for that god; honestly, this is not a really well thought out feature for EoF.

In my opinion, the Blessings and Miracles are a great addition to the game. I seem to aquire quite a bit of no-drop Legendary gear throughout my travels everyday to pay for my blessings and miracles( I dont sacrifice something I can sell on the broker ). Also, I can say that personally, I can't even begin to count the number of times where using my miracles or blessing saved my life (not to mention the whole group). Of course, I save my miracles/blessings for named mobs. Its all in how you put them to use really. There's also been many occasions where other peoples miracles and blessings saved my life as well. For instance, in places like the Nest, where if you die on the last named, you can't get back to him. Or the Den of the Devourer where it can be a pain to fight all the way back down to the last named. And if you take a look at Raiding, I've yet to test this out but just thinking about everyone having their different blessings and miracles, if everyone uses them at the same time it can really turn the tide of the battle. So from what I've seen and done so far, Marr has saved my guildies and me numerous times with his blessings =)

The starting Diety quests can be found all over EoF, mainly Butcherblock and Greater Faydark. I know off hand the Marr quest giver is up in Kelethin itself. Zek is in Butcherblock on top of the cliff of the path that leads down to the Gfay zone. But in general, I think they are all in either Gfay or Butcherblock.

I'm not very happy with Marr as far as a MT perspective. It looks great for off-tanks, but not MT's.I did it for the cloak, and am switching to brells.

How to start a diety quest?

Head to EoF area and find your deity's representative. If you can choose that god you can get a quest from that person to start. If you do a search for diety you you should find info that will help regarding where to find and what the quests involve.

Personally I rarely use those miracles/blessings from my diety, just because the benefits are not that noticeable and the reuse time is just..well, too long. Also, I notice a lot of resists on these miracles/blessings from high level mobs, but maybe it's just me.

As an above poster pointed out the diety is really just a money sink, I really hate how they designed this. Items should give alot more favor then they currently do, or you should gain favor over time, something like vitality.

Mith Marr is by far best choice for defensive tanks, the cloak is really nice too. The final miracle is like ToS but for 10 attacks and no dmg to your shield, pair that with ToS and Block and you absorb 13 attacks > 10% of your health and an additional 10 sec immunity to all atacks except a direct AE. which means i can tank Naggy alot longer now

How does the Tribunal stack up against Marr? Any thoughts?

sylvan_elf wrote:
How does the Tribunal stack up against Marr? Any thoughts?
I just switched to the Tribunal and so far I like it. I'll be able to tell more further down the road, but right now... yeah.I took the 20% incoming damage converted to my health and the 30% incoming damage done to my power instead blessing and miracle.I switched from Bristlebane, and I was, maybe still am, kinda iffy about giving up my Swindle Fate miracle Time will tell...
