<DIV>I have mostly played a shadowknight (up around level 60) and have started a guardian now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My guardian is only level 20+ so far and won't be any mt in raids, just made one too help out newbies in the guild that all are dps :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is there any major no no, or must do vs how one is playing a shadowknight.</DIV> <DIV>Have upgraded all the sentinel, allay and other "save the group member" skills, taunts and buffs, but haven't bothered with dps.</DIV> <DIV>Oh yeah almost forgot, and of couse my armor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any suggestion at AP, shall one do the old ap or go for the new tree?</DIV> <DIV>I'm just gonna be a casual group tank that, as said above helps out lower levels when needed.</DIV>

HI there, I would say upgrade all the buffs and damage skills you have as well as you can. Hate comes from taunts AND damage. Guardian buffs are some of the best tank buffs in the game now .. even if that's not saying much =) Guardians have the lowest dps of the tank classes so if you are grouped with plenty of dps it will be fun because guardians also have some of the best taunts and defensive skills of the tank classes. Tanks in general are very gear dependent. Get the best armor and jewelery you can and you wont regret it. If you are going to remain a group tank, I would recommend the Buckler AA line. It dramatically increases dps and agro control with no real loss at all in a group. After you get 76% double attack the rest of the points I would say put in the new AA tree as you get them. I would use them to increase either slaughtering skills or crippling skills. None of the final skills in the new or old AA lines seems much worth it right now. That's my 2cp =) <div></div>

<DIV>1. Upgrade gear (whatever possible)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Get Taunts (this includes Rescue and Reinforcement, once availbable to you), Buffs, and then DPS spells to Adept 3 in that order (Note - I'd Taunts to Adept 3 at all tiers, the others once you are in the current end tier)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Ingore the "hurt me to protect others" spells until last <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. Resists matter, don't ingore them</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. Agi is more important (at the moment) than it was pre-EOF for Avoidance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. Consider AA for Agi and Wis</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>7. Consider EoF AA for DPS first and Reinforcment, Rescue line second.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my random thoughts. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Your mileage may vary.</DIV>

<DIV>My little guardian is level 34 now and I have gone down the buckler line (have 11 or something ap right now).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can say that I take <U>a lot</U> more damage now than I did before (makes the warden work a little :smileytongue: ).</DIV> <DIV>I have no parser but I guess the dps has gone up a bit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have upgraded my spells to adept 3 and my armor is mastercrafted. So tanking and holding aggro is no problem.</DIV> <DIV>Will run with the buckler line for a couple more ap an a couple of more levels (or until someone tells me to change :smileywink: )then I might try out the other choices to see what I like the most.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks again for the input.</DIV>
