Mitigation on Shields

<DIV>Anyone know when the mitigation on shields comes into play?  Because it doesnt seem to effect your base mitigation.  Now I am no expert on game mechanics but I have heard the Mitigation comes into play when you Block....but, the combat log just says you Block, it doesnt say you Block XXX amount of dmg.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So when does the shield mitigation come into play?</DIV>

It actualy adds to your block %. Put your mouse over, you will see ..buckler with 400 protection give 5% block and tower shield with 1300 gives 18% to block or somethign like thatAnd block is the most important skill when tanking vs 75 ^^^ couse all other defensive skill cap out against high lvl mobs.
