<DIV>I know how AoE Immunity works (you cannot be in direct target of the mob casting) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On this raid I wasnt the Main Tank I was just shielding when needed. I was in freethinkers trying it out and it seemed to not work at all. We had the AoE timed so i would throw this up before the NPC dropped the vase 5 seconds into my AoE i get hit with the AoE and so does tha paladin standing next to me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I see the Icon in my spell window ticking down and then the dot from the aoe.... shouldnt i not get hit with an aoe?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Got Your Back</DIV> <DIV>Effect: Removes fighters from any Area Effect spells. </DIV> <DIV>Duration: 12s</DIV> <DIV>Recast: 60s</DIV> <DIV>Range: 10m</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dosnt seem to work, I /bug it but wonderd if anybody else has had the same issue with epic encounters... i dont know where else we would use this maybe mistmoore x2 mob but then again its epic and prob wont register.</DIV>

<P>As a Defiler, my dog has a permanent AOE immunity from an AA line. 98% of the time my dog never gets hit from an AOE. He only dies from the occasional riposte when I position his attacks poorly.</P> <P>However there are a few specialized AOE's out there that he cannot avoid, ever. Everything about these AOEs seem normal except the fact they are coded slightly different, making everyone in range a direct target. Not talking about just named epics, some trash epics have these type of AOEs (AoAx2 trash expecially). They can still be resisted however so most players dont notice the difference.</P> <P>Anyways, this may be what your seeing. If you have a Shaman in your raid with an AOE immune dog, test it out. If the dog dies then nothing you do will prevent the AOE from landing other than high resists.</P> <P>Edited to add:</P> <P>AOE nondirect, anyone with AOE immunity can avoid these.<BR>AOE player direct, anyone the mob is not focused on can avoid these, directed player is not immune.<BR>AOE group direct, anyone not in the group the mob is focus on can avoid, directed group is never immune.<BR>AOE raid direct, no one in the raid is immune from these. These are usually much easier to resist than most AOEs to keep things balanced.<BR>AOE zonewide direct and indirect. Rare.<BR></P> <P> </P> <P> </P><p>Message Edited by BeatinGuts on <span class=date_text>11-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:25 PM</span>
