<DIV>I get in game tells all the time from Guardian's that after the new expansion they are yet once again trying to save money to respec their AA line.  The big thing for awhile was with the buckler and STA line, but now that our mitty has taken a bit of a hit, I have more guards tell me that they are starting to trade in their buckler and relish back to the ubiquitous tower shield.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm looking for a bit of direction here.  Knowing what you know about the changes in the game, (which includes are taunts being resisted more and the recent reduction of our mitty) what are your recommendations?  What if any changes do you think will you make that will better suit your toon:  The following - Hold better aggro, compensate for higher mitty etc...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tristin</DIV> <DIV>Raid Tank for Divine Justice  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Atm, I am specced STA 4,5,8,8 and WIS 4,4,8,8.Cookie Cutter, I know <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I won't respec atm since I want to see how I do with full adornments and 100 AA.I still have hope in my STA Line <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />It still works in group content and I can't judge Raid content since KoS Raids are still borked I think.<div></div>

<DIV>If our taunts are being resisted more that makes all the more reason  to stay with sta line since it offers great dps. Honestly from my tower shield to my buckler I only use 2% avoidance. I can live with that. I tanked Labs on the 18th and it was tougher. I managed through the first 3 named with buckler with no wipes. The 4th named which is the trio droags ripped us apart. I used the Tower for Tower of Stone then would swicth up to Buckler.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not fully fabled and I never got the good claydmore pieces but we resorted to using Urchin again. That with my short term mit buffs set me over 8k but we still got plowed. I blame my sub par gearing but its not cakewalk anymore. Note: We run 2 Labs run at the same time and our other raid with the better equiped tanks(more fabled and most of the claydmore mit items) didnt get any further then us. They actually wiped on the first Alzid ( /flex good to be a Guard =D)</DIV><p>Message Edited by Excedium on <span class=date_text>11-21-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:01 AM</span>

<P>I'm thinking ditch Wis for Agi now. Mit is worth less than it used to be, and with taunts resisted and so many melee procs (like the adornment 100-damage every hit), having your auto-attack hitting multiple mobs would be a big plus. The only good thing about the Wis line is the mit.</P> <P>With the deity stoneskin, dragoon's reflexes, coupled with block and tower of stone is a potential 22 seconds of melee immunity backed up with 13 stoneskin procs for any spells that get through. That's long enough to rez healers, provided people watch aggro and transfer hate. The fact you'll have more mit from stalwarting would make that extra 350 from wis even more worthless. You also get another blue AE to use with Reinforcement for those non-linked adds, if you're lucky enough to find a decent 1h piercer.</P> <P>Just hard settling on how to spend the points in both lines. Sta probably 4-4-8-5 and Agi 4-4-8-4-8. But then you're really losing avoidance with the buckler, though gaining AE auto-attack when you pull a tower shield.</P>

I think many Guardians are starting to realize the WIS mitigation boost isn't so great anymore <i>when compared</i> to the other lines you could take instead.I an currently STA+STR and going high hp with my gear instead of max MIT. I think things are going better this way. HP plays a bigger role now than ever. The 320 MIT when raid buffed is such a small actual % of mitigated damage, it's just not worth what the other lines have to offer. I see tanks moving to more Aggro oriented specs, and avoidance specs. (Defense/Parry)<div></div>
