View Full Version : Guardians! I just love being the man ^_^
Hey,I have been playing a Guardian since June and I reached lvl 49 last night. I really enjoy being the MT and taking on big groups and Epics. However, I am finding it hard to kit my Guardian out. Atm I have full Ebon Armour and the shiled from the Death Fist Citidel HQ. Does anyone have any ideas for quests / raids I can do to get some nice armour and equipment for my lvl or am I just best off waiting to get full Colbolt Armour?^_^

My advice for you is to spend as much time getting new world gear as possible if you have the expansion. I am running with nearly all T7 fabled and 53 AAs atm and the new world treasured has equial or better stats than some of the fabled I am wearing.

The intention of the expansion is to progress via gear and AAs rather than levels. That means, in my opinion, that my T7 fabled is basically entry level gear for the expansion.

Consider that we have probably a year before they increase the level cap to 80. With the 100% increase in the mit/stat cap, you will need new world gear with the better stats and mit to progress to end game content in EoF.

I raided the Freethinkers zone during the beta with my copied over char augmented by the beta buffed fabled gear, some of which was a little better than pieces I had but mostly my gear was better. That zone was very doable in the old world gear as MT.

Mistmoore Castle is scaled the way Nizara was with high level super heroics. I think Nizara was a test bed for the new zones in EoF, btw.

Meaning that to take on the zone you need excellent gear and a mezzer to get in very deep. That is my first impression of the zone at least.

If I was just hitting level 50, I would go after all new world gear except maybe the chitin rings, since I have not seen and do not believe that old world gear will be adjusted to be as good as the new world gear.

Just my 2 cents.

My guard ihas just reach level 60, but just before he did my guild raided courts. They could not get enough people for the regular T7 raid. It was my first time there. I was just about the lowest level there, in cobalt or better armour (mostly pre-nerf cobalt). I died 14 times. Twice I was one-shotted by a AE, including once when I had both mit buffs up. I did not feel like "the man" that night. On the other hand I got 5 full AA points, and 2 fabled weapons - a 2-handed sword and a 1 handed axe that no one else wanted. Some chain armour dropped and some plate only usable by crusaders. I went from 95% to 99% in xp and leveled up the following day. A rather mixed experience.

Those aoe's can be a problem, what sort of resists do you have for them? In Courts the big ones are heat and cold, a full set of standard T7 resist jewellry will help alot there.
Theres a lot being said about AA's atm, I have just respected to STR from AGI, however, now my armour don'st save me anymore, should I go back to AGI?

My resists aren't great, though heat and cold are the best,I have a partial set of T6 resist stuff - I am a jewler, but my level was lagging a bit. Of course I can't wera T7 master-crafted stuff yet.As the raid was set up to replace a cancelled one I had no chance to prepare for it.It does seem that something has changed though. Immediately after the update everythign was doing a lot more damage, but that seems to have been adjusted. I am only taking a little more damage now. Fighting groups of blues and greens I now run out of power before I run out of health again. As an alternative to cobalt, try to get on some guild writ raids. At T6 they can give molds for level 50 legendary armour, and at T7 level 60 stuff (I got a piece this week). We did the first 3 raids and got 4 molds - though 3 were for chain and only one plate.
