mithanial marr seems like the only option if your good aligned, its more oriented to a crusader, but still decent for a guard.

it's actualy more than decent...20 seconds invulnerability and other effects are awsome...an other choice would be Brell as he got some high mitigation effects

Tunare is all healing benefits, a ranged ability and a damage thing... not for us Brick Walls. I was saddened when I heard I could not praise my true lord Rallos Zek. After looking at the achievements I am glad to be one of prolly 100 Ogre Guardians of Qeynos in the game to be able to worship the top tank god, Mithaniel Marr.

Based on what I've read so far, evil alligned MT's are stuck with Brell. Good can take either Brell or M. Marr. The rest of the options are less than appealing.

I'm on the last Marr quest and thinking the rewards really aren't that awesome.

The blessings are unremarkable; the 25% hate buff would offer some advantages on a raid if you really want to let the dps unleash hell. But then Innoruuk is better for taunts. The miracles either revolve around you sacrificing health to heal someone else (and when is a Guard not the MT), a stun worthless against epics, or a stoneskin, clearly the best, but unlike tower of stone it's not selective, so if you're lumbered with a low damage DoT or a flurry of low damage hits it could easily be wasted. There's also really not much to offer when you solo, but hey, it's not like many Guards are daft enough to try and solo. It's also a comparatively hard quest.

I think whilst it is the best line for a pure raid tank obsessed with having as many stoneskin / block options as possible, for an all-round player who groups, solos, and raids occasionally, the evil deities offer a lot more.

Stupid question why can't evil guys take Mith Marr?

The dev's wanted to have a system of good, neutral and evil dieties, Goodies live in Qeynos/Kelethin, while the baddies live in Freeport. Good gods, at this point, are Mith Marr, Tunare, and Quellious. Neutral gods are, Brell Serillis, and Solusek Ro.Evil gods ares, Innoruuk, Cazic Thule, and Rallos Zek.Citizens of either city can worship the neutral gods, Qeynos can also choose from the good gods, and freeport from the evil gods. I am not positive on this, but a player who has exiled to Haven can worship all 8 of the current gods.

Skrillz, I found this post listing all the gods blessings and miracles. You can find your answers here:http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=echoesoffaydwer&message.id=27287&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tunare has a 10-shot stoneskin miracle too, only hers reflects 50% of the damage too, making it flat out better. The blessing that heals you when you take spell damage would also work well alongside Block and Dragoon's reflexes (so would the Tunare stoneskin if that reflected damage adds to your hate).

I've finished Mith Marr personally, but I did Tunare with my Warden and when I looked at the abilities two or three did seem like they'd be very good for a tank. The cloak would be useless though - and the combination of the 40% grow on the Mith Marr cloak with Bolster and Form of the Rook means you can actually look raid mobs in the eye, lol.

I took Rallos Zek, being the evil halfling guardian that I am. I love it. The big miracles are really fun. One gives you a fusion like spell that will hit up to x targets (I think it is 10) for 5500-9500ish damage. The other one is a 5-trigger damage shield that hits for 4-6k each trigger.

It was so much fun watching a level 72 mobs health just drop dramatically hehe. Plus, its great for holding aggro on some named that seem to resist taunt quite a bit.

Since I've been trying to avoid EoF until I finish claymore, I've not been reading anything about dieties and whatnot. Now, since I'm sort of stuck in 22nd claymore quest, and it seems that people are not going back to KoS any time soon, I have a couple of questions.1. Being an evil guardian from Freeport. What NPC do I need to talk to in order to get into this diety stuff?2. Is there a recommended diety that a guardian should follow? Thanks all.

Seriously Marr sucks for a main tank. I finished the quests and got the cloak. The abilities are very useless to a main tank except for the hate gain and the imunity to 10 attacks. I see very little use from these two abilites as it is.

I went with Sol Ro and I am advising everyone else in my guild to do the same. The damage output on sun sphere right now is insane. If several members from a raid all pull out sun sphere on an end boss, that boss will drop much much faster than normal. This would seem to increase survivability much more than 10 stone skins. Im currently using the T1 imp pet blessing and the sun sphere miracle. The imp pet nukes for about 500 -700 every 2-3 seconds and when he dies, his hate is transfered to me. This has been working out prety well so far, I am getting alot more use out of Sol Ro than I did out of marr.

I can see where marr would be useful as a secondary/support tank. But as a main tank or a solo/group tank I would say Sol Ro is a better choice. I am in qeynos on a pvp server so I havnt even looked at the evil gods. This opinion is based only on the good/neutral gods.

As far as pvp is concearned, sun sphere can take out an entire raid of enemys in about 6 seconds. The brell aoe is prety nice as well for group or raid targets. Right now the Tunare stun ability is extremely powerful but only effects 6 targets. One use of this and you completely cripple the oposition for a whole minute. That is more than enough time to kill them all.
