<DIV>I have been putting points solely into the INT line as I get them... I basically chose that for the simple reason that I like swords, I didn't really choose it for a min/max type of reason. I have 4 in the first tier (the self haste buff that works with 3 CA's) and 4 in the 2nd tier that permanently increases your haste by 2.2% each point I believe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My main question is for those that have utilized this line... how far down should I go? The next tier is a parry bonus. I am just now starting to think more on the lines of min/maxing to make the best tanking guardian I can. For that matter what do people suggest as an overall spec? My main concerns are being able to keep agro and survive the beating. I'm in a small guild that usually joins up with another for raids but most of my playing is simply a single group in which the 2nd tank is a bruiser with a fury as the only healer, a troubador and the rest DPS. If I weren't considerably higher level than the others I would probably struggle with agro as I still lose it from time to time, especially to the bruiser.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One last noob type question... Ive seen other people list their AA specs in a format such as 448... does the first 4 generally include the 4 spent for the stat itself? Or do people only list the points spent on the actual abilities.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zjin</DIV> <DIV>62 Guardian</DIV> <DIV>Mistmoore</DIV>

448 includes the stats in the first tier. It's part of the spec and it's variable (1-<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> so people list them. Concerning how to spec your AAs: that's a huge topic of which there is plenty of info on this board. In general if you're tanking, you want the 448 in wisdom line to get max mitigation bonus. After that, it's a toss up.

<P>Personally I went with the strngth line first until I got executioner anger 8 (+10% hate gain), currently working on agility line because I think being ably to parry all attacks for 12 seconds with be a handy skill. After I max agi out i will most likey do the wisdom line or I may re-spec and go with anger 8 and put my agi points into wisdom.</P> <P><IMG src="http://www.personal.psu.edu/spm227/images/lil_sig.jpg"></P>

<P>Well the most intriguing line is the sta line... I would love to take it all because it seems the most fun. After reading alot of this board Im skeptical how useful a buckler is for tanking though. It just seems like a fun line.</P> <P>So Wilin, just to get it straight with the formula... right now I would be spec'd 444 in the INT line correct?</P> <P> </P> <P>Zjin</P>

<div></div>With the right buckler you lose very little avoidance whatsoever so I hear.Plus buckler seems like it will work well with int line. You have increased swing speed along with a % to double attack. Each has a way of increasing defensive stops and buckler line procs dmg on defensive stops. (ie block, parry, etc.)A combo of INT and stamina is what I am currently looking at to increase my dps. I'm on a PVP server and am currently not worried about being a raid tank or such, plus if i ever change my mind my respec will be free so I can easily become a raid tank on a dime.EDIT: Plus I have a tendancy to solo 50% of the time and DPS helps out far more solo than extra mitigation ever would lol.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Randell44 on <span class=date_text>08-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:44 PM</span>

<DIV>the sta line is just a good way to get more aggro via dmg. If you have aggro problems then sure go for that. Personally I like the combination of wis/int for mit/avo, my stam is capped self buffed and I can hold aggro just fine when I have my group makeup... so that's not a problem. My guild is kinda Dirge shy so I really need the parry from the int line... if we had a dirge that played regularly i'd prolly be more apt to go thru the stam line for times when I'm not tanking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>~Abomidable - Mistmoore</DIV> <DIV>~Lords of the Triple Moons</DIV>
