<DIV>I decided my 61 guardian would look good on a nightmare, so I started the qeynos to freeport betrayal</DIV> <DIV>.</DIV> <DIV>Now, a bit about my guard. I live on the test server and have an alchie to make all his arts. His armor is Awakened scaleguard (purple plate from the droags in TT), Cobalt legs, Rawgs chest, handcrafted jewelry, dropped treasured dual wield weapons.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After getting through the faction quests with invis totems, I did the final task of killing Shay in Squire's vale.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ok, I tried to do it....6 deaths later, I complete it. I get to Freeport and think...hmm...I wonder what a zerker is like. So, I change class and 15 mins later, I am doing the Freeport to Qeynos betrayal...At least up till Exile.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is what I found out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wearing the exact same armor, taking the same racial choices and without any post 60 <STRIKE>50</STRIKE> arts except the master at 54 and only upgrading a few arts to app4,(no arts past 54 at all) I again do the faction quests to get into freeport and head off to kill Shay once more, this time as a zerker.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Night and Day...thats the difference. With a zerker, same armor, worse combat arts, same potions, same AA, I blew through the mobs in Squire's vale without breaking a sweat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A big difference between the plate tanks, no?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a side note, once I joined freeport again, I went back to guardian<BR></DIV><p>Message Edited by Sunrayn on <span class=date_text>08-19-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:52 PM</span>

you can betray as many times as your willing to put in the effort to actually do the quest. You can even betray from freeport and switch into a guardian (if you start as a berserker) then turn around and work back to freeport <div></div>

This thread seems appropriate to ask this question: For the life of me I cannot decide which to be, a guardian or a berserker. The main thing I want to do is tank. I dont really want to be DPSing in a group, so Berserker seems like the poorer choice for me since if there is a guardian, he's likely to be the tank rather then the DPS. But at the same time, I'd like to solo from time to time since we all know getting a party wont happen some days, so choosing guardian scares me a bit because from what I've read they dont solo well. From what you've said, it'd seem like being a berserker is better, but at the same time you returned to being a Guardian. What made you go back? What made you choose guardian over berserker when you first made your character? Thanks for the help.<div></div>

With good weapons, max strength, master1s and the proper achievments we do decent single target damage. We have a hard time taking out encounters with multiple mobs. Ive recently powerleveled a mystic up to level 69 from level 1. This was basically soloing (while mentored for the first while) single tripple-up heroics. I can handle most non-named tripple up heroics level 68 and under by myself. Im specd in sta/wis for achievements, near capped strength solo (in dps gear), legendary weapon from HoF, and about 50/50 on M1s & Ad1 on my damage abilites.</P> <P>Tip: Pull with Hex of Ruin <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P><BR> </P>

okay, glad to hear that. ^^ Thanks a bunch.I think right now my AA line is looking to start 20/16 in stamina and wisdom respectively (So I get max double attack) and then go from there once I know more of what I'm lacking.<div></div>

I am wanting to do this on my guardian also. Is there a writeup or a spoiler or something somewhere that can walk a person through how it is done?<div></div>

I was a Berserker for 70 levels and 50 AA's, had all legendary armor blah blah blah, then I made a guild and was like, maybe I should be a Guardian so I can also be the main tank. In my own personal opion other then AE dps and perhaps attack speed, guardians abilities do more, they have like 3 attacks that do over 1k+ dmg when ad3+. Berserkers have 1 high dmg attack and rest are average, guardians also have way better agro spells etc and better group buffs.<div></div>

<P>Hmmz,</P> <P>Changing from zerk to a guardian just for MT-ing is not needed. They both can do the job.</P> <P>They both are good classes when it comes to MT-ing. A guard has a small defensive edge and a zerk has the edge when it comes to aggro... (P.S dps doesn't come for some skills doing 1K while they are on a 1 minute timer, dps comes from special skills, like destruction, open wounds, and from autoattack, when your buffed to raidlvl on dps and haste your autoattack dps will be phenomenal... ).</P>
