I just received the belt from the Claymore quest line and it is finally time for the decision I have been avoiding. Do I need to retire my FBSS. I have wanted to replace this slot for a long time now but I have not been able to get my hands on a different decent haste item. I am starting my MoA trials finally, so I am hoping to get the gaunts of glorious speed, but at the moment I dont have them. My AAs are wis/str so I didnt go for the haste there either. Is it worth giving up the haste for the nice stats on the claymore belt?<div></div>

mita > haste for tanking... there are a few items out there with haste on them 20-23% so it can be made up rather easy... if you're not tanking then go with the haste...

Haste gear is not important to a MT. If you are not tanking then haste can help with your DPS but as a raid MT I don't have 1 haste item I wear and I don't have any problems.Also the gauntlets that you are hoping to get aren't that great stat wise they do have 23% haste or whatever but the stats and mit aren't that hot.If you are looking fo ra good ahste itema nd if you raid regualry you can get a wrist/neck item for getting deathtoll access with 23% haste.

probably going to be rare , to find a bangle of manipulation, 20% haste wrist, decent, 47hp and stats, t5 fabled. It's nice to have, not necessary.<div></div>

Kinda all depends what your tanking..... Tier 7 raid mobs , every bit of mitigation counts <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> so dropping 142 for 15% haste would be madness. However the gloves mentioned Gauntlets of glorious speed are 420 mitigation and are actually quite decent unless you have a fairly good pair of fabled t7 alternatives. (for the record they are the end mob of trial 2s legendary drop, if you have 6 people doing this stage do it one at a time to give you 6 chances at the gloves) I actually gave up gem encrusted to wear them (cant remember exactly but i think they were around 500 mitigation but losing 20% for being too low made them very similar to glorious speed gauntlets) For ordinary exp groups and in particular if you dont have a full group Haste in my opinion is very useful, those gloves and even just 5 points in the int aa line and a sword will give a fairly big boost to your overall dps. With good haste and dps any melee class will kick out very good autoattack damage, guardians are very much included in this and with a good setup you will find yourself creeping onto the parser without sacrificing much in the way of defence. The other thing to understand is Haste, DPS mods and Double attack all scale with each other. So 100% haste makes you hit twice as fast 100% DPS makes you hit twice as hard 100% Double attack makes you hit twice as fast again Each one of these works as a multiplier, So You hit twice as hard twice as often is 4 x the damage , twice as fast again gives you 8x the damage ! Damage of course is also direct hate. Because of this scaling even a small amount in any of these 3 things DA/DPS/Haste can make a huge differance in the right group. For the record I regularly sit 90+ for dps and haste and with 76 da my dps is pretty good. Just to add my 2cp worth. Haste can be good if you went with the hate gain on your AA's.The 10% hate gain is from autoattack damage only.Another point is when you use Reinforcement..more haste = more hits/hate gain.

The end mob always (at least in my 5-6 visits) drops legendary plate gauntlets with 22% haste. These you can wear for haste while solo or in 1 grp stuff and swap for better mit gear on raids. I take it that you can only enter the zone if you have or soem one in the grp has the quest(trial of alacrity) right?
