<DIV>I've just come back to EQ2 after getting sick of the other MMO I was playing, and I'm bringing along two friends (one of which who is going to be our tank ). He's somewhat new to MMOs, so I figure I'm going to have to teach him the basics of tanking ( ack ), and so I'd like to know what class would be easier for him to play (zerker or guardian), and which will be more beneficial in small to average groups (3-6)?  Raiding potential and ability to PvP will have no affect on this decision.</DIV><p>Message Edited by MissTigress on <span class=date_text>07-23-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:48 AM</span>

For small groups, I would go with a Zerker not a guardian.   Zerkers are great tanks and do more dps then Guardians.  If you were going to do some raiding I would say go Gaurdian but they are just big meat shields.Rubbermade LvL 70 GuaridanFallen on Befllan<div></div>

<DIV>An old friend of mine from EQ1 just returned to EQ2 and brought two friends with him.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think they have a near perfect setup: Berserker, Templar, Swashbuckler</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Any tank can really work I am partial to the Guardian as I love mine who is now 64.  Zerkers do have the more dps but if you get say a fury and wiz/warlock to go with the tank a Guardian would be just as nice.  Monks/Bruisers are great too nice dps but single target based so if you go that route have single target dps to with him as they cant hold aggro of wiz/warlock aeing at all.</DIV>
