Hi all, First, I know I rolled on a PvP server, so I expected to die. A lot. It's not the deaths I'm having trouble with. It's the fact that a large majority of the deaths I've been able to do absolutely nothing about. My entire 4 kill - 29 death pvp experience so far (I'm 20) has either been getting close to insta-gibbed by scout/mage 5-8 levels over me, or losing not-so-close fights to blue or green scouts/mages/shamans. This is my first pvp char in EQ2 and I've got decent gear, 48%ish mit and 42% avoid, over 1,1k hp. But 2 things:1. I never seem to fight any even-level characters. Always fighting oranges or maybe yellows, maybe seen a blue once or twice.2. Unless I'm rolling with a full group, or at least a couple of healers, I'm pretty much just a speedbump. Any tips, tricks, or other strats I can try? I'm not rerolling, I love playing the Guard, just wish I wouldn't be gank fodder - or that I could do something about it.TIA,- Fred<div></div>

A solo guardian is gank fodder unless you're the absolute best of the best in terms of gear. In a group, Mages will love you more than any other tank due to your sheer amount of taunts. I'd recommend getting a rare crafted imbued bow for every level range as that will help you with gunning down runners, and bow shots later on really hurt. With the changes to intercepts in LU24, groups will love you more then ever.To put it bluntly, guardians are group tanks and that's where they excel. That's just part of the challenge of being a pvp guardian, being limited to a group or becoming the new Qeynos/Freeport Bike.<div></div>

<P>Guardian pvp tactics = run, you will not beat anything, you are too slow and you have no real root/snare and no burst dps. Guardian is only useful in pvp in a group of atleast 3 peeps, and then u will shine if u can keep agro and keep the others alive. PvP 1v1 is really just dueling not pvp, and chances are you will be hit long before you hit anyone.</P> <P> </P> <P>This is good advice <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=3&message.id=34521&query.id=5875#M34521" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=3&message.id=34521&query.id=5875#M34521</A></P>

Guardians do just fine in PvP imo. We shine in groups no question about that. 1 vs 1 We can hold our own against most.Casters - If you get on em they are DONE even with mana shield. Get your resists up and you will win most of these fights.Scouts - You should pretty much own them if your gear is good. Either they will evac or die both imo are a win.Healers - Your gonna get beat eventually as a guardian. Takes a while but they will outlast you in the end.Ackilles (70 Guardian) Vox - Karma<div></div>

<DIV>I probably have no right to post on this as I do not pvp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I do dual occasionally though and frankly I do very well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A bow has been mentioned already and i will reiterate this, I find i do a serious percentage of my damage in duels with a bow.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course I use the buckler line so I am double attacking a lot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I find if i manage to get close enough to shield stun anybody they usually dont survive the short amount of burst dps I can then inflict.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However my standpoint is from a fairly well equipped and very offensive aa build lvl 70 with 50aa.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
