Heyas,I play a guardian on pvp server and I was wondering about how my fellow guardiands are fealing about the AA, does it make your class diffrent enough ?Guardiands can wear any type of armor class, but why wear anything then heavy plate ?And how about it if you choose to go for int line that it gives you something more for increasing that stat other then in AAs.

Message Edited by FallenFeather on 04-04-200605:14 AM

I think that with the AP lines and on a PvP server I might be inclined to go sta and wis. The stamina line requires a buckler and the wisdom line requires a hammer or mace for their special attacks, using these would make you appear, on casual observation, as a cleric type. It can provide a little misdirection for your opposition if they decide to jump you in some situations. In PvP group action as a guardian, you want people to engage you and keep them off your groupmates, if you can convince them to start with you, then your job just got easy.

This is just speculation on my part and of course if they were to watch you fight in your group they would see that you are a warrior type, but ruses don't work in every situation.

Intelligence line first:4 stat boosts = wohoo int. Why again?8 acceleration strike= Now we are talking, much speedier attacks and higher dps without consuming power. Helps aggro slightly as well.8 Slayer's Speed= Same thing only lesser amount and passive.Stamina line next:4 stat increase= STA, hey wow i cna actually USE this stat.8 Buckler Reversal= Your defense becomes my offense MUA HA HA. Procs of dmg on failed attacks merely increase your dps and aggro.8 Gladiator's Fitness= Double attacks. YAY slightly more dps and aggro again for free. Should work quite well with my now faster attacks.8 Gladiator's revenge= Extra chance to riposte or parry, yummy. Better defense and ocassionally a stinging blow to remember you by.I plan on carrying a good tower shield AND buckler around, I will use each when appropriate. Also as noticed this is intended to increase my dps vs a single target. With a good weapon the DPS differance SHOULD be noticable. Also i might mention that buckler reversal would prolly own another tank class.

Message Edited by Randell44 on 04-09-200602:39 AM

Wisdom is much better than int for pvp, the belly slam debuff applies to all melee attacks against that target and its a good stun. Plus the thing after belly slam gives you a 2.4% passive buff per rank to your dps as well. The final rung removes all penelaties for defensive or offensive stances. Improvements through double attack and haste will not stop your opponent from attacking you or your group mates nor will they improve damage done by your fellow melee groupmates. Even a wizard will do more damage against a plate tank after they get belly slammed in melee. Take a look at your own mitigation and consider being stunned for a few, blurred for longer and consider that any other melee attack is hitting you with your mitigation reduced by 900.

WIS was my first thought for a Achievment path. Then I realized 2 things. 1. Int/sta combo suited me better 2. Wis was fast becoming FOTM....which is usually hate lol. I love trying underwhelming SEEMING things, 95% of the time those things are perfectly viable. When it comes down to it...I took the int/sta combo for soloability and the ability to contirbute beyond being main tank and having a debuff attack. Another note on the stances. Think about it....defensive stance and buckler reversal. Since my skill wnet down thier chances to defensive block me went up......and so did my chances to proc buckler reversal for greater dmg than my normal melee swings would have done anyhows. I dunno about you but parries against higher opponents and opponents that have you debuffed or in defense seem to fly out of them like candy.
