I've a 31 Guardian alt and was in TS today needing some Skeletal Veterans in Ruins of Karana for a quest. Is it me or are the parry rates beyond insane? At a rough estimate i'd guess 80% of all my (Adept 1) Bull Rush attacks were parried. At least 50% of my Slams as well....these guys are blue to green to me and I was being parried so often that many of my CA's were worthless!I've a Ranger main (lvl 62) who has serious issues with parry but until I played my Guardian I've not encountered specific problems with it beyond my Ranger. Honestly the parry rates are just a little bit OTT.Guard CA's tend to use a fair bit of power and with present parry rates things are getting a little out of hand.

I've noticed parry is overpowered relative to block and defense as far as tanking but I haven't had issues hitting my opponents.

Wabit wrote:

stay away from monk mobs

Haha, Sorry Wabit, but since roughly 60% of all mobs in the game right now seem to be monks, thats kind of hard. I even had a monk in my group the other night go, ~hey, check that out, that named has a monk buff on it~. Sure enough we checked it out and when you examined the buffs, it did. Of course it seems the other 40% are now either SK (thanks for all the HT guys), necros (why does ever damned bug have the ability to summon a skele pet), or some conjuror that has pets falling out of its self (we had one of the bugs not only summon a pet, but then it summoned a swarm of pigs to attack us too).

Where are all the guardian mobs? WTB guardian mobs even if they are insanely hard.

Creature of Beauty in Poets pre KoS was a pain. If you went in with a melee only group it was a tough fight. The 360 degree avoidance was just a killer.

Well if you think about it. It does make sense to make NPC's anything other then a guard, since npcs dont use mitgation. I have seen zerker npc's (imho the worst to fight since they have this insane aoe dps that gives like a 5k hit). I have seem bruiser and monk npc (which seem to be the standard, consistant dps, few spikes, 360 avoid). i have seen shadowknight npcs with harmtouch (some spell damage, 1 spike hit, low hp's and die fairly quick), I have seen pally npc's (1 near complete heal, a lot of patch healing if not stunned, a few damage spells, dies fast if stunned/interupted well). Now why don't you see alot fo guard npc's? For one NPC's dont have mitgation. They just have hp's which is set for the mob (so mitgation buffs for a guard npc is useless, protection abilites are also sorta useless for npcs as well, although i can see Tower of stone and spell shield proc being useful only probelm with that is PC's genrally don't have the spike dps NPC's may have.) Lots of things the devs could do with NPC's which they havent done yet.

Oddly enuff they havent put rampage intp epics yet. ( a skill in eq1 where the second person on the hate list would get random strikes while the NPC was engaged, Thus requiring at least 2 fighters to tank an EPIC), I havent seen tsunami type aoe's where any melee or spell directed at the NPC gets thrown back at the PC's (on a timer of course). I want to see a tallon zek type epic battle (ranger epic) in eq2 where the EPIC mob cast knockback (and sometimes teleports) and casts stream of arrows. I also want to see some true RPG style combat where an NPC may have several targets. And certain targets would need to be destroyed before the rest of the targets are.

Or even a guard NPC which fights in a group setting who can cast his protection skills indefintely to protect his group. Thus requiring the raid to stun the Templar (immune mezz), mezz the warlock and wizard, kill the guard (immune mezz, stun), off tank the assassin (immune mezz, has 1 assasinate(death touch) on #1 on his hate list per battle, but can do alot of backstabbing damage thus requiring an offtank), and interupt the illusionist (immune mezz, but this NPC, can charm and super buff random PC's, mezz and stun PC's, can do a complete power drain on 1 person in raid with a 1 min recast, and cast that nifty group doppleganger illusion once per battle(although the illusions should be heroics not epics so they should have 1/3 the Hp's be stunndable, mezzable, etc) I think this would be a fun and random dynamic raid that can change anytime u do it requiring corrodiantion between many classes but not requiring any specific class. and to top it off all these NPC's should either be able to cast zone wide or be tethered to each other.

Message Edited by Gungo on 03-10-200611:46 AM
