<DIV>ok, I like my 40 Guardian a lot, i play him a lot more than my 29 wiz or 24 necro because i just love to be right in the middle of the fight (plus the great view from the front line when everyone does wipe out <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ).  I can understand if they dont wanna take the time to fix us because of the numbers ( on kithicor server saw like 15 guardians in 5 min in my starting city) but why not fix SOME of the stuff.  i wont quit playing because of it, even though most people with pick a monk to tank before me in a lot of cases, but something being done would be nice, like the dps. i dont think the hp is a problem, at 40 i'm already close to my 53sk buddy hp wise, but come on, we are the big boys, we should be able to go into rampages when our hp gets low, and our base damage output should be higher...does anyone agree with me on this??</DIV>

<DIV>well the only problem i've had is that clerics (even on the same level as me) have problems keeping me alive when compared to the heals they can dish out and the mobs i'm tanking, now call me crazy but i've been tanking in higher than me level zones for a while, at 39 was tanking lvl 48^^^ mobs with a group, tough and long fights but come on, shouldn't their heals hit for higher?  I mean, (forgive me for comparing) but on eq1 clerics got a complete heal, and several really uber HoT's, what the deal here?? i've never played a cleric here so, forgive me if i'm ignorant about the class, i only know that you dont make the cleric mad <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>i'm not uber, nothing special or anything like that, we had a guild group going, had a 50 wizzy, 44 necro, 46 sk, and a 40 inquis.. the only reason i WAS able to tank is because the amount of dps the group was doin was taking them down faster than i was getting whooped up on, all in all i didn't honestly have that hard of a time doin it, as long as the healer kept on his toes we did allright, we would split the mobs using the necros pet until we drop the bigger one.  Let me reiterate that, i was the only one on hand to tank, because for some reason, (which he still hasn't told me why) the 50 guardian wanted to play his necro :/</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. taunts didn't really get resisted...i only use 2 anyway, and taunt pull reguardless</DIV><p>Message Edited by TerylByar on <span class=date_text>12-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:11 AM</span>

<DIV>"Guardians are nothing but a power sync for healer types.  Perhaps it's Sony's way to make sure that we have 2 healers in the group?"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I recently switched guilds, and found to my surprise and pleasure that the new guild wants and uses Guardians as MT´s, im 58 now and grp alot with 60 zerker, 60 monk and 60 fury and I´m always MT, I´m not having any problems holding agro and they can dish out all the dps they want, going uber defensive and tanking 60 to 62 herics and named the healer typically uses about 15% of his power pr. mob so I dont see a problem there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We chose this class to tank, not to do dps, everybody agrees on that... personally i´d just like to see some of our CA´s tweaked.</DIV>

I am pretty sure, in the tank realm, level is one of the most key reasons that you would be voted as MT.  Level is over all, then equipment, etc IMO.

<DIV>eh...they are just hard on me, i dont mind doing stuff like that.  Your gonna die, it's a part of playing and taking risks, everytime you pull a mob there is a chance of wiping out, so why worrie about it.  I dont like to die, and do everything i can to keep the whole group from wiping out in a situation that might go bad.  thats my job, the fall man :/ .  ya live ya die ya xp, work tradeskills or whatever, it's a part of playing.</DIV>

<DIV>dont get me wrong, guardians are [Removed for Content] when it comes to damage, but on the other hand our defense abilities should really be improved if we are going to be nothing but meat bags, i know i know, i chose the class, i knew what i was getting into.  But really, they either need to improve the guardians defensive abilities or the clerics healing ability, i have both and sure they are nice, but at 42 knockin on 3900 hp it gets kinda hard to heal me sometimes when the damage is rolling away on me.</DIV>

<P>Preaching to the chior friend. Guardians were the best tanks pru LU13. All tanks were overpowered when buffs were stacked on them but Guardisn could buff their own defense and make it look to the monster your fighting that they are an extra level or two higher then they are. That was all well and good until more and more people hit level 50. All the sudden all those fighters that had fun doing DPS, playing with odd little utility spells and doing the odd tanking in groups got bored and wanted to be equal tanks.</P> <P>I'm fine with them being equal but SOE decided that equal meant all fighters could tank equally. Ok, so now all fighters tank like Guardians or vice versa and Guardisn got nothing to compensate them for this. No DPS, no useable utility, nothing. Now we tank the same as everybody else and have no other qualitities to make people want to play them.</P> <P>SOE has stated that Guardians are balanced and based on the changes in the upcomming patch they must feel more than happy where we stand with other classes.</P>
