<div></div>DoF came out, and it was so laggy overal, combined with all the spell/action changes, that my wife and I pulled our EQ characters out of the closet. Last week we started to play some EQ2 again, hoping things would be fixed enough by now, to actually have fun again. What a surprise was waiting for us... Where before DoF we were able to duo and have lots of fun, anything that we attempt now results in utter failure <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> First of all, she plays an Inquisitor, and her healing abbility has so totally changed, that she finds it impossible to keep me healed. Second of all, because now all she can do is heal, or I die, she doesn't do much DPS anymore, leaving all that up to me. Our super duo of 50 guardian and 50 inquisitor seems to have been reduced to a laughable joke, not able to much at all. Assuming that it's not the game, and that we'll just have to totally relearn our classes, I'd figure I'd post here first, to ask if it's worth the effort? Is a guardian/Inquisitor combo still able to duo? Or are we better of rolling other characters, or maybe even wait for a different game all together? <div></div><p>Message Edited by Twoofus on <span class=date_text>11-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:56 PM</span>

<DIV>What kind of mobs are you fighting?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I play an Inquisitor on my second computer. I don't have any problems healing unless it's orange triple ups. Anything below that, I can keep a tank healed and still toss debuffs and dots out.</DIV>
<P>When my wife and I first logged back in with the same duo (albiet a bit lower level) we had the same problem. After playing a while and readjusting the strats a bit, we are back in the groove.</P> <P> </P> <P>Id suggest relearing the characters a bit. The heal over times (Bestowal of Vitae) and such are much different now, and she can't cast that on you before you pull because the reactive proc now correctly makes her acquire hate from the heal instead of the person its casted on. Plus they dont heal as good as the used to. </P> <P> </P> <P>It takes a bit of relearning, but if you play around with it, you can be successfully doing most of the things you could before. (Like i said we arent 50 yet but we were in our early 30's and had the same type problems you and your wife does)</P> <P> </P> <P>Hope this helps ya out!</P>

Go mine a set of cobalt, and level up. You can kill any mob without much problem once you figure out how DoF works. Yes slow, but it was slow before dof too (hint, inquis guard was never good duo for fast xp). <div></div>
Myself (51 guard) and wife (51 Templar) also had a bit of an adjustment period.. Now we are duo'ing again.. not as much as before (Darn those ^ ^ ^ Heroics everywhere), but we are able to duo. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I upgraded Assuage to Adept III and put it on her and I have no issues with aggro. </DIV>

The first night we finished the vampire expansion (last mission). The mobs were all level 40 (green to us at 50) and the bosses were ++ or +++ I think with some adds. We managed to do ok here, but we'd be very low or out of power after a boss fight. Last night we joined some guildies (55 cleric, 52 bruiser) in a zone of Sinking Sands. It was like an underground zone, where you start on a ledge and have to fall down into a little pool when you start. The mobs there where yellow--- to yellow+++. Everything went ok untill the cleric left. We got a group of 2 ++ mobs to add on a +++ mob, and the inqui just couldn't keep the bruiser healed. We wiped to the ++ group. The bruiser left to, and me and my wife decided to see what we could take. We where ok with the - and -- groups. But when we pulled 2 yellow ++ mobs, we wiped again. Tonight we'll try the blue +++ spectres, as I remember them totally wiping me out in 2 seconds in beta <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Any other spots we could try at 50, to get re-aquinted to the new way things work? <div></div>

Try clefts.. but the zone is a little laggy.. but lots of small heroics (not so much +++). <div></div>
I can say that after getting a full set of Cobalt and Vanadium jewelry, mobs are much easier and less healing required.

Just stay ontop of the dunes and pull with a bow, never had an add there yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My advice for the Inquisitor is to debuff. Toss a group reactive then toss every debuff they have onto the creature.</DIV>
