I would suggest this line would get changed, atm its pretty good spell line to use for extra aggro but its sorta "slacker skill" I would like to see it get changed so it would still proc taunts when taking hits but for less thread, instead it would increase hate generation so our other taunts would make more aggro so it would allso help us get aggro back if we happen to lose it. allso as its name is "defense" it could really increase our defense when we use it, make it increase parry and allso really cool would be it making "damageshield" but other way then normal damageshields work atm. it could inflict damage on opponents when we parry or block with shield, would fit the guardian pretty well imo, if we block with our shield the opponent shud take damage, if opponent gets through our defense and hits us, why should they take damage? allso as devs have stated that "Call of command" line is our class defining ability, it could have added small regenerating ward, mystic "runic talisman" allready has this but imo it wouldnt be that bad for guardians to have it too, ward in it isnt large but it does help the group, allso it would make us getting aggro a bit easier when getting adds, especially when we are rooted with maddening defense its pretty bad to try grabbing all the adds. isnt it guardians specialty to have best ae aggro? any feedback is wellcome but please dont turn this to flame thread. <div></div>

I don't see it as a slacker skill at all.  If you do, then just don't use it. I find that if i'm fighting a group of mobs this is the spell that keeps the mobs that don't have combat focus hating me, and builds hate on them so when i turn to the next mob i don't have to build up hate all over again. It's a spell mainly designed to help with groups of mobs, but it also helps with single mobs.  Go into a battle with a ranger, have him equip an imbued longbow and use legendary poison, then go all out on the mob.  Try multiple battles this way, some without inflaming, some with.  You'll find you lose hate without it, even if you spam every other CA you have. In my opinion if a skill is required to keep hate in at least one situation then it's not a slacker skill.  Maybe your dps is just not doing enough damage to make you work for hate? You also probably have maddening defense at master 2, which is the first and only HTL spell you get to make uber for free.  Don't forget, master 2 = really [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] good.  Don't ask to change a spell line just because your master 2 version is too good for you, just stop using it and move along. <div></div>
