I currently have Aegis of Alacrity (which I have used for a looong time) was wondering if I should upgrade to T6 imbuled Legendary (ironwood) looking at it's stats it seemes better than Aegis but with current shield factor and T5 fabled T6 rare confusion I wanted to ask if I should spend money or not. If somene used those two shields and could tell me which one is better would be nice. TY in advance.

I am sure a T6 shield will give better avoidance then a T5 would. I'll have one made today and post the results if none have been posted yet.

At 52 the fabled is considerably better. I am presuming as I lvl the imbued ironwood will get better , but at my current lvl its over 1% less total avoidance *(50+ more hp)*

They both give me exactly the same avoidance at level 60. It is possible that against higher level opponents the T5 gives less avoidance, but that's not exactly easy to test. Shield Factor appears to be a meaningless stat at the moment, and shields grant a flat ammount of avoidance based on type and quality.

However, if your considering tower vs kite, they provide the same thing.

I have a T5 fabled Kite shield, the avoidance on it is slightly higher then the imbued ironwood, even though the shield factor on the kite shield is 720 and the shield factor on the ironwood is 840.

I have no idea what shield factor means as far as I can see it is nothing but a number.

At 60 is what I thought the question is applied to.

At 60 Ironwood > T5 Fabled.
T6 Fabled is junk, but since it says fabled, it will add slightly more avoidance.

Pin is correct:

At any level, any fabled>any legendary> any treasured, etc. The only things you should look for are a fabled shield with as much hp/agi/+to def or parry as possible. Doesn't matter what tier it is.

Heisenberg 60 Guardian

Dirac 52 Warlock

Iniquity-Oasis

The only thing that affect avoidance (besides fabled, legendary, treasured) are the +4 parry shields like Zalaks, which make them the best in the game....still.
Message Edited by Danterus on 10-21-2005 10:47 AM

I had an ironwood lying around so I just had to see it for myself.

T5 fabled (aegis of alacrity) gave slighty more avoidance than T6 legendary (ironwood tower shield) despite 120 shield factor difference and +9 agi.

fix that
