View Full Version : 80% mitigation? How can you tell...

<DIV>Is there a way to tell if you are at max mitigation for your level? Does anyone have any data on how this is calculated? Is it based on level only or also based off of arrows up and down. My understanding is mobs with down arrows or up arrows hit for less or more respectively but do you mitigate the same amount of damage if its an even con +++ or ---?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, if a mob is higher level do you mitigate less damage period or does higher mitigation allow you to reach that 80% cap for that creature? Example: 1000 mitigation = 80% for your level but you have 1200 mitigation. Does that mean you can mitigate 80% of a mob that is 2 levels higher than you?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Keep in mind these numbers are just being pulled out of the air.</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Kriddle Kraddle on <SPAN class=date_text>09-23-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>09:38 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Kriddle Kraddle on <span class=date_text>09-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:39 AM</span>

The simple aswer is yes. When you put your cursor over your miti number it tells you how much mitigation you do against a npc your lvl. It does not change whether its a 3 up or 3 down. If you exceed this 80% mark vs npcs yoir lvl you will then be able to mitigate more vs npcs that are higher lvl then you, but always up to 80% vs them.

The way mita scales now.. at 6 levels above you, you might as well be naked... totally stupid. <div></div>

The equivalent in the old system would be you wearing T4 gear to tank level 55+ mobs. The only thing to do is replace it with some nice 400mit per piece stuff.</P>

<DIV>Hence the reason I been promoting not just raising miti cap cuz I dont think thats a good idea, I think they should rework the Mitigation FORMULA, on how mitigation effects hits we take on mobs conning higher then our level. Right now fighting deep yellows and oranges(most raid mobs in the future) I might as well let a assassin tank, his avoidance is twice mine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Covenant</DIV>

No thats not why my shiney armor doesn't work. Kobalt is just as bad. Once you hit 6 or 7 levels above you, mita is rediced so far.. fabled t6 heavy and verylight t6 is very very very close. <div></div>

It doesn't get any better as you level up, it's always level 50 armour, or basically Ebon in the old system.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And as for the T6 heavy fabled I've got/seen, it's 100+ per piece upgrade over T5 fabled (it all depends on the required level to wear) and things feel better when you've added a few hundred mitigation.</DIV>

(might be wrong but) think Tuna is talking about your level vs the mob level <font color="#ff3300">not<font color="#ffffff"> the level of your gear. If the mob is 7 levels (or more above you) it doesn't matter if you are wearing level 70 armor you will still mitigate like a wet paper bag going through a threshing machine.</font></font> <div></div>

Exactly, you are missing the point. At 6 levels, mitigation is 100% useless. Casters and gaurdians tank the same. <div></div>
