<DIV>I wanted to discuss an interesting twist to how the combat changes have impacted my typical group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm in a fairly small guild, and our tanks are myself (48 Guardian) and a couple of SK's (47 & 50).  We can all get the job done, and are decent at playing our roles.  Our equipment and spell upgrades are comparable.  It is important to note that since we are in a small guild we usually hunt in less than a full group (typically 3-5).  We aren't very big into raiding, mostly just casual grouping and questing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Before the changes we would change up who would be MT all the time.  Sometimes it was me, sometimes an SK.  It typically worked better for me to be MT and the SK(s) to dps because my guardian was a much better tank, but we changed it up alot. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After the combat changes I have found that I am now pretty much always in the dps role and the SK(s) are MT.  Surprisingly enough, the reason for the change has nothing to do with tanking ability.  It is because our combined dps is better when I'm not tanking.   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr> <DIV>Guardian MT<BR>48 Guardian: 30-60 dps range (def stance, tower shield, 1 hander, chain taunting)<BR>50 SK: 130-160 dps range<BR>Combined: 160-220 dps range</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SK MT<BR>48 Guardian: 100-130 dps range (off stance, 2 hander)<BR>50 SK: 100-130 dps range<BR>Combined: 200-260 dps range</DIV></BLOCKQUOTE> <DIV>The other players are doing the same dps levels no matter which of us tanks.  The healers do not seem to have a preference one way or the other as to which of us tanks.  There also does not appear to be any differences in downtime. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, as you can see, it makes for faster kills for me as a guardian to dps rather than tank.  Seems odd, but hey it is a whole new game now. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just wanted to share and see what everyone else's experience has been. </DIV>
