They make every bit of difference in the world. Especially your defensive stance, with that stance up you'll almost be back to your good old tanking self.

Yea I find that I'm in defensive stance 95% of the time.

I used offensive some yesterday when assisting a Paladin as MT. It was a decent DPS increase. Didn't parse it.

With buffs my defense is fine against white ^ and below so I use the extra offense to help kill quicker. (And I do seem to solo mobs much faster now.) -Will

Defensive stance is nice. moreso for the mitigation but the parry and defense do have a noticible effect only because we get so much of both. Offensive stance isn't very nice. STR doesn't add much dps and slash, crush, pierce have almost no effect on ATK. You could parse with and without offensive stance and see very little difference (remember defensive stance lowers your dps so dont compare that directly). Skills still need some work... especially offensive ones like Crushing etc. If they fix that then we might notice a larger differene when using the offensive stance.

It all depends on your group set up and what you are fighting. If I have 2 healers, I try to go all out offensive (offensive stance/2h'er). If there is only 1 healer in the group though, I go all out defensive (defensive stance/sword & board).

The defensive stance works great, but I don't see a hugh difference when using the offensive stance. I'm sure our damage output goes up some, but it is ever so slight. I'm sure most of us don't mind since we did not sign up to be dps machines anyways. At any rate, I suggest using them. It is easy to switch between the 2 in the middle of a fight so adjusting to the situation is not tough.

Wabash Cannonbal

51 Guardian/50 Weaponsmith
