Why did it kill your play in eq1? Warriors were still MT.

I can't remember exact time I stopped playing but around 16 months ago I think, Pallys were preferred over Warriors or whatever we were called at 56 - 60 because of the insta-taunts and tanking abilities. I was an average Warrior and up against an average Paladin, the paladin was always preferred. I'm not a stat guy but I think it was because Paladins and Warriors did not have much difference in their tanking ability or the mobs weren't nasty enough to hurt the Paladin enough to make a difference. But come taunt times, Paladins kicked the Warriors [Removed for Content] in its ability to get aggro back and maintain it. I gave up on it until eq2 came along..

Wow, and the nerf stick strikes again! Guess it affects all fighters though, although some fighters tend to keep aggro more on the DPS side then taunting side. Still big hit to us all.

Not really problem solved but we'll see.. Taunt fails, lose aggro. It doesn't matter how many taunts we have. We need it all to keep the wizard's arsenal from getting the mob's attention. A healer should pull aggro only because the healer doesn't know how to get the job done. A tank should lose aggro only because the tank doesn't know how to get the job done. These we can improve upon. None of this should happen because a taunt fails. Which is something we cannot improve on after hitting a certain failure check. But like I said we'll see. SOE may surprise and show mercy upon the tank.

I have 4 taunts, aoe, single, 2 melee attack taunts, I think I may loose one of the attack taunts though. Plus we gain agro when we buff as well.

Paladins/SK were prefered in exp groups, they were not prefered in raid situations.

Why do you think pressing a button is an indication you know how to tank?
