Prismatic Choice

I'm about to complete the quest to get my Prismatic weapon, thanks to my awesome guild's help and dedication. But, our guild's raids MT suggested that I pick the Dual-Wield Pristmatic (<font color="#3399ff"><a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=56448" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=56448</a></font>) weapon now that DoF is coming. I can mix this weapon with new ones coming in DoF, even after lv. 53. Unlike 2-h or 1-h where I will have to replace them the moment I find some thing better (may not fabled, too). I don't go into many raids. <DIV>With the new combat system you will be a lot more depending on your shield when tanking. I will be tanking for xp when DoF comes out. Normal mobs. I normally duo with a skilled Templar. So, I try dish out as much damage as I can. <div></div>

DW is a mistake though. Would need DW + a fabled for good dps.. when you could just bust out the 2h and be done with it. 2h or 1h... 2h is prolly okay for xping, but I prefer shield and 1h myself. <div></div>

TunaBoo, may I ask for what reason(s) you prefer the 1h over the 2h. Is it a matter of style? Or better efficiency (stuns and all)? Or because We're Guardians and all? Thank you all for the great answers! <div></div>

So I get a shield and tank better. 2h to 1h I lose like 5 dps, for 15% block. I want to tank the best I can when tanking.. while dueling or whatever I can break out my RGF. <div></div>

Well, I got the 1-hand, but I raid tank, from an exp point of view a 2-hander might be better, depending on what kind of groups you get and what you kill, might end up needing to put a shield on and tank... so they are both situational.

I heard a rumor that Prismatics are getting nerfed with expansion. Not sure if its the stats themselves or the effect. Can anyone confirm this? <div></div>

Now, I got the Interdemsional Shield. Man, the choice is hard!  -- but at least I eliminated the 2-h out of the choices! So, now, it's either DW or 1-h. I got most tanks telling me to go for 1-h. Ummm ... 1-h ends at lv. 53 must be replaced after that for good. DW ends at lv. 53, too but can be mixed with other weapons lv 53+. I don't have my hands on too many fabled weapons, 'cause I don't join all raids. DW Pros: - Mixture with weapons later from DoF, so I get to enjoy it for longer. - Good damage. DW Cons: - Shields, no more stuns, no 15% block and no haste. 1-h Pros: - Get to have shield which is 15% block, haste and other stats buffs. - Decent damage. 1-h Cons: - Lv. 53 is almost the end for this nice prismatic weapon. When replaced, it is replaced for good. Please, What do you think? and why? ... <P>Come level 60, you're going to be switching out your pristmatics anyway. You might as well get the 1h and be effective for now because someone focused on dual wielding never lets his weapons grey or green out anyway.</P> <P>Either way, pristmatics will be done for good provided we can't upgrade them or they're not beefed with the expansion, so i'd honestly advise going with the 1h.</P>

I picked the 1-handed. Mostly because I just got a 20% haste shield. <Slighly off topic> My shield is the aegis something 20% haste.  I also have a waist item with 20% haste.  Moorguard states they are changing the way haste stacks in DoF. You can only have 1 haste item.  I just got these items.  To use them for only 3 weeks bites. <div></div>

Well you can have 1 haste item PER SPEED. So 20% shield, 15% fbss is OK. 20% shield, 20% waste is no-go. <div></div>

But I think it may be a future change. Something they are looking at. I just hope they dont limit it to 1 item. I can see some limit to stacking, but I know a lot of players that have a shield and a waist item. The day after I get the shield I read the post from Mooregard. Talk about bad timing! FYI currently 20% waist and 20% shield stack on live. </span><div></div>
