Last night I reached lvl 32 and I got Entrench. But I confused about the description. First is the broken description by 16% decreases attack speed by 10% Increases mitigiaton of target vs all phyiscal damage by 775 First whats the top line? And whos attack speed is being dropped and and whos defenses are being massively increased mine or the targets? <div></div>

Top line doesnt matter in this case. Makes YOU attack slower. Gives YOU more ac. <div></div>

Thats what I thought but I wanted to make sure. Seems a pretty nice ability then. <div></div>

It works like commanding pressance does now, but with a drawback and longer recast ;P <div></div>
This doesn't sound right to me. It says it slow's the *target's* movement speed and attack speed, and increases it's AC. It doesn't say it increases the caster's (Guardian's) AC while lowering movement and attack speed. Plus, you can pull from a very long range with Entrench, you can't pull by buffing. It sounds like this is a way to debuff a mob's movement and attack speed, while buffing it's AC. You could use it against a tough mob that comes with adds. Entrench the big guy, and kill the adds first. Then cancel Entrench and work on the big guy. The mob's AC increase should be moot anyhow, since noone should be melee'ing it until last (once Entrench is cancelled). At least that's how I interpret it. <div></div>

<DIV>Currently on the live servers, Entrench/Anchor work as a debuff on what you have targeted. It slows the mob but boosts their AC. It also had an extremly long range so was very useful in pulling. I was using it to pull and to slow a named while my group and me would off any adds then cancel Entrench/Anchor and go to work on the named.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On Beta/Test, Entrench/Anchor works as a self buff now. Works alot like it did on the mobs on live. We get a nice mitagation boost but our dps goes way down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wabash Cannonbal</DIV> <DIV>50 Guardian/Weaponsmith</DIV>

Its a SELF buff. The word TARGET can only mean YOU. <div></div>
If we're talking live servers, I respectfully disagree with "Target meaning YOU". The Guardian should be the "caster", not the target. If it's a self buff, and if memory serves me right, it would say "caster" in the spell description. As of now on the live servers, Entrench is a mob debuff, not a Guardian self-buff. Now on test/beta, I wouldn't know. If Entrench is going to be changed in the new combat system, again, I have no idea. <div></div>

<div></div>live = debuff to put on mobs beta = self buff to put on yourself. Maybe I assumed too much when I figured he was talking about beta not live... the live version of the spell is going poof very soon. <div></div><p>Message Edited by TunaBoo on <span class=date_text>08-30-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:13 PM</span>

On Live, it slows mob by 16% (the first line) and decreases attack speed BUT it increases mitigation. Costs 1 conc to cast. It can be used for pulling (long range) or to slow adds. Make sure to put it off when you fight the mob. The AC (mitigation) increase is pretty high. On Beta, it is one of our 30 second duration buffs. <div></div>
