<DIV>Anyone find it odd that some of our skills ranges are less then max melee distance? I find it annoyong as hell having to reposition myself almost every pull when I see "too far away". It seems pointless to me, and feedbacking it isn't helping.</DIV>

<DIV>Aye, most if not all of the skills that just do direct damage.</DIV>

<DIV>One way to use this to your advantage is have a mage root the mob with Ring of Cold or Bony Grasp...then back up to where you can't use slam, etc...but only just that far. You'll still be able to use all your taunts, Cleave, Swamp, Vindication, Vengeful Strike, etc. The key is that this puts you out of range of a lot of mobs highest damage attacks. Doubt this will work for epics, but does for heroics. My roommate has a lvl 50 wizard and we've been duo'ing Tundra Terrors this way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, if you have a mage using Ring of Cold (haven't tried this with Bony Grasp) there's a cool trick that works most of the time. Let the mage start the combat with Ring of Cold (or lock the mob right after you pull) then <EM>don't</EM> go to the front of the mob, stay outside it's attack radius until you can come up behind them, most of the time they won't be able to turn to you and will not be able to attack you while you can use taunts, etc. If you go around the mob too close, they'll rotate to follow you and you'll be exposed to their attacks. I save the close range attacks like retaliate, slame, etc for when the mob breaks root since they have chance to keep the mob from attacking, thus increasing your survivability. This is focused mainly on when my roommate and I are fighting heroics w/out a healer.</DIV>

<DIV>I find it more than annoying.  It actually pisses me off to no end that we bug this time and time again and those wonderful devs are more worrried about "fixing" the overall combat "balancing" of fighters.  Please fix the real everyday bugs before you screw with the combat mechanics and CREATE a ton more bugs just like you always do because the test server is in no way truely testing updates by resetting everything and then reloading the "corrected" patch and testing it again before you go live.  If I wanted to test every update I would play on the test server (I degress that is another thread, sorry).  This little problem has nearly gotten me killed numerous times in tight spaces where the mob will simply adjust to my movements and vanish into the wall/floor/whatever and is still too far away from everyone for the group to do any real damage to it while I am getting the bejesus beat outta me by it.  If the devs really read these threads... Please fix the REAL combat problems BEFORE you fix the balancing issues.:smileywink::smileywink:</DIV>

Here is what I have observed for this bug.  If you are on a hill or even slight incline (right after docks in Feerott you go down a very slight incline) it almost never works.  I don't even go to hilly areas because I can't use my two highest damage attacks.  If you are on even ground you have to be overlapping with the mob, meaning you will see your legs through their body and stuff like that.  I think its ridiculous to have to get so close as to ruin the atmphosphere of the game. If you are fighting large creatures (Giants, Golems, and such) it works very well! I find when I am fighting these I am never too close to the mob but my Crush and True Strike work everytime.  I believe it has something to do with the overall zone of the creature, since its so big you are almost always in its "zone" I really hope they eventually fix this problem because these are our best damaging attacks.  <div></div>

<P>I also find this very annoying.. When killing Blightrats in RV for example, afer I get the rat where I want him, I face him and move forward until I am stopped by his body. Then Slam and the others will land. If I am not standing ontop of or "In" the mob I cannot use Slam etc..</P> <P>I also have bugged this many times quite awhile ago but it is still happening..  </P>
