<DIV>Hi all,</DIV> <DIV>My alt just graduated to true-blue Guardian over the weekend, and I'm psyched. He's been great fun to play so far and I'm really enjoying the defensive tank role. I've read through the stickied threads, very useful info there, and I'm now hoping some of the rest of you can help me get a leg up as I progress into the 20s. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Quests</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>I'm working on my AQs for now, but any other good quests that I should look for at this point? (I'm Qeynosian if that helps.) I'll start DWB soon, giant language, all that jazz. I vaguely remember some of the good Steppes quests, but I'm remembering from the standpoint of a ranger, so I may not have done some things that could have good guardian rewards. Suggestions?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Armament</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>Any specific weapons I should look out for? I need to get a decent crushing one-hander so I can work up that skill, I let that languish during my teens and it's woefully low at this point. I'm currently alternating between Delacar's halberd and a steel longsword that dropped off of one of our guild raids, so my slashing is fine. Piercing could use a boost too - do guardians typically go for 2H spears for piercing weapons, or should I look closely at dual-wielding?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Armor</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>I'm probably going to finish the AQs either way, but I've already bought a few laensteel pieces, and the Seven-Layer Breastplate from Taco Bell. I'm wearing the salt-crusted (?) leggings off the broker currently. Not sure how this will stack up against the Hearth Forged set. Also, if it's anything like medium, I'm assuming pristine carbonite vanguard would narrowly beat out the Hearth Forged armor?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Jewelry and Other Items</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>Need some suggestions here. I'll probably just shop for some good T3 crafted jewelry, but again, any pointers for good quests with jewelry rewards or drops I should look for would be appreciated. I don't plan on investing in hex dolls just yet, but that depends how my stats pan out. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for any and all helpful suggestions. </DIV>

Buffs are not just for buffing.  They create a good amount of aggro also.  So spam your buffs when worried about holding aggro.

<P>hey man grats on your alt. it is good you are doing your armor quests.. it gives you experience in several style fighting environments and rewards you with some really good pieces. one thing to keep in mind is at lvl 22.6 you receive shouting cry which you will use throughout your career *at least at the time of this post*. upgrade it to adept3 or better as soon as u can. it really helps on holding those mutilple mob encounters and later on is the only group taunt that will work on harder raid mobs. i really wouldnt worry about upgrading any other spells past adeptI. also make sure u keep up your harvesting skills, its a nice way to make a little extra coin and u will need to harvest rares to make legendary armor/spells later on. as for as weapons go i always use a crushing 1h weapon +proc and shield when mt'ing. when im soloing on my own time i switch to a dw setup slashing/piercing.. this way i am always working on all skills.</P> <P>gl to ya man!</P> <P>Kisero HT {oasis}</P>

<P>For the 20's the armor quest rewards will do you just fine until about level 30 when you can buy the feysteel items, as for jewelry just get the usual imbued crafted items until you eventually replace those with quest rewards (shard braclets).  The stats on the AQ items are better than the carbonite items.</P> <P>Shiny Brass Halberd is a good weapon for a guardian, you can start that quest at 25 I think its been a while.</P>

<DIV>I started replacing my AQ items when they became blue.  I replaced them with pristine carbonite.  I believe this was because the carbonite had better mitigation.</DIV>
