from todays patch notes: - Examining items such as armor, weapons, and spell scrolls will now show which classes can use them and at what level they can be equipped. This replaces the previous information that showed the skill name and required skill level, which was often confusing. Ok what exactly was so confusing about..."IF ITS NOT RED YOU CAN USE IT" =P Also I suppose your avg EQ2 player was incapable of simple division. BUT I really think this is nothing more than a prelude to class specific gear =P

RafaelSmith wrote:from todays patch notes: Ok what exactly was so confusing about..."IF ITS NOT RED YOU CAN USE IT" =P

Because that's not true. Red does mean you can't use it now, but it doesn't tell you whether you can ever use it. This is probably more important for younger (in game younger that is) than for the higher levels. But I don't recognize every item I come across. Some are obvious but others I have to open my skills and see if the skill for the object is one I have. And I don't have to ask in guild 'can anyone use xxxxxx', I can just say 'I have a swashie item xxxxx'. I'm very happy about this change.
