As stated can guardians solo, They dont have to be the best just want to know if they can solo and how long down time would be in the fights. Thanks for any help.

yes, they can solo, but aren't the most efficient at it (rank somewhere in the middle really - can kill hard stuff solo, just not very quickly).

there is almost no downtime for any class in EQ2 - 30seconds with food and drink and you go from empty to full out of combat.

Guards can solo low blues and greens. Priests, especially clerics, can solo yellow and orange. Anyone can solo, but if you are looking for a mad soloing god class, look at a healer

Right now it's very easy to solo as a guardian using the +6 level formula.

Basically buff up your defense and check it in the skills window (L)

Divide by 5 to translate into a level.

You will be able to solo any more 6 or more levels lower then that level, as long as they are a pure melee mob, and not +++.

Raid mobs will hit more often, and casters will kill you pretty quickly.

I soloed 48-50 killing level 46-48 giants in perma. And at level 50 I can solo level 49 Heroic mobs without much trouble.

It is kinda slow however, and for best results team up with a monk or bruiser, or other DPS that can control aggro.

No need for a healer when the mobs can't hit you.

Guardians are some of the best soloers in the game. Guardians solo much better than all other classes except for Wizards and Warlocks from what I have seen. It only gets easier as you level. If you really want to solo the most stuff the fastest, go with a Warlock. A level 50 Guardian can solo a level 49++ mob pretty easily. Caster mobs can be trouble though.

I can solo blue ^^ one´s who are 2-3 lvl lower than me, and white solo mobs ... IF they aren´t caster mobs!

If they are caster style it´s always a matter of "What ends first? His power, or my health?" question :smileywink: But if I have a choice, i leave them alone (if enough other mobs are avaliable)

If I solo i always use PGT - because of the Ward it prok ... can save your life for real

I can solo yellow and even orange solo mobs pretty easily at 42. Green ^^'s are no problem. I don't have ebon or any other great gear, some cedar stuff is my best. If you have a GB, try to stick to undead, that plus a shield is a good mixture of offense and defense.

But, ya they have to be melee mobs, no casters.

It takes alot of patience. At 50 you can solo most pure melee mobs just be prepared to sit there for a while.

I have no problems soloing. I only run into problems when stifled (but can usually recover) or when there are adds - but those can be avoided and mobs with stifle can be picked on first. So again, no problem.

Message Edited by SmakenDahed on 06-20-2005 08:50 AM

From my experience I would say guardians solo extremely well--probably too well. Perhaps my circumstances are atypical but at 34 I was able to fairly easily solo mobs ranging all the way up to level 41. They did not have an ups. Likewise they were melee mobs so the battles were choice for mitigation/avoidance to play a role.

Guardians can indeed solo, just prepared for it to take a long time.

There are a wide range of mobs that you can solo and some you just cant. At level 50 I can take out blue ^^ flame reapers in Lavastorm, it just takes awhile. Buff fully, use a sword/board combo and drain their power using deafen and vindication. Casters tend to be the easiest mobs because they are so easy to interrupt and can't take damage very well. You'll be able to solo the Broodmother in Everfrost and you can give Undertow a good run for his money. You'll be able to solo quite a bit but dont be shocked when the mob you spanked yesterday gets lucky tomorrow.

Last night, i got my butt kicked. My group was camping some screaming mace mobs and we had been camping the Cenobite for a good long time (stupid Xilarga spawned 5 times). The rest of the group gave up and I decided to stick around for one more spawn. 2 green single ups spawned and nuked me for about about 3k and just kept tearing me up. I was able to kill the first and get Unyielding Will to go off, i died, came back with half health and power and killed the other...... 30 seconds before my heart exploded.

[Removed for Content] Oakwood!

I have never considered my cleric a "mad soloing god class" !

Soloing as a cleric is slow and dangerous. I avoid heroic mobs totally!

Pretty good with blues and greens - sometimes whites which use up most power. Double ups and multi-mob groups? :O

Thank goodness for Manastone!!!

Want the best soloer? go Pally. Maybe a high level mage.

But then that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
