Guardian the easiest tank to play ?

<P>Hmmm...  Well, I would say guard or zerk are good choices.  My wife and I duo a Guard/Templar and it has worked very well for 45 levels (46 for me).  Both are fairly easy to use at the basic level but to perfect can be very interesting.  They tank a little differently, but a Guardian is more of a "traditional" tank.  IE if you want a meatshield who's main ability to hold aggro is taunts and def buffs, that's a guard.  I don't play a zerk but their higher DPS does factor into aggro control, somewhat, as well as their buffs (offensive vs defensive but they still build aggro when cast).  They don't have as many taunts (I dont think) but they do have them.  Either way you should be good.  I lean towards the guard but I am biased.  I like purist classes.  I learned along time ago anything hybrid (or even slightly off the baseline) it harder to play if not just underpowered/imbalnced etc.</P> <P>Purist classes are Wizzards/Warlocks, Guards, Templars and I think Rangers/Assassians (for scouts).</P>

<P>If she's mostly going to duo with you as a templar, I would say Berserker.  Pallies get heals and wards, but with you she won't need them.  Plus, there are ALOT of paladins on most servers.  Guardian is certainly viable, but she'll lose alot of damage potential and you as a templar won't be able to DPS much either, so killing things will take more time.</P> <P>If she wants to solo alot, Pally.  Very well rounded and survivable.</P> <P>If she wants to really get into the game and join groups of strangers easily, Guardian.  But I would say Zerker as a close second - easier for a newb to learn "DPS - kill it" than the various duties of MT, and Zerker can do both or either - Guard can really only MT.</P> <P>If she's into roleplaying, ask her what sounds like the most fun to RP.</P> <P>GL,</P> <P>RP</P>

I would have to say Guardian all the way ... I have played a Pally and a Zerker and I must say that I have a much easier time holding Aggro with my Guardian. Again it really is just a preferance and I would recommend investing in your Tuant Spells to at least App IV if not higher.

I never said one was better just that I found it easier to hold aggro with the Guardian. The OP asked for the communities opinion and thats what I gave. If in fact you are correct in saying Zerkers are better at Aggro then so be it. I could care less. I just wanted to say I THINK the Guardian for ME was better at holding aggro.

Friskcin dont come on to other class boards and start calling people ignorant because you make us zerkers look bad.... Guards over all have great agro , IMO zerkers have better snap agro but on the long haul lose slightly to guards in the long long fights ( thats why its kinda ok that the lvl 50 AE taunt guards have dont work on  ^^^ raid mobs because quite frankly a 200+ threat lead over every other tier 5 AE taunt is kinda over powering  <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) . Thou i am curious, if you lead off with the 50 AE on say a non ^^^ in the same encounter as raid mob ? does it affect the main guy as well? The one thing i can say is that you have to play a paladin/SK ALOT better then a Guard/Zerker for agro control. So if a Paladin/SK can hold agro while MT on raids then they definatly have skills <div></div>

I'd have to say 80% of being a tank has nothing to do with what class your playing. It's more of a leadership type role. Most groups need one person to keep everyone focused, happy, and healthy. This naturally falls to the tank. If you want an easy class to play, go with a DPS class with little utility. You won't be expected to heal, crowd control, tank or buff. All you need to do is focus on damage. People don't notice if your dps is 100 or 150. They do notice if you lose agro, or don't heal someone.
