[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] is it? Last night my usual group of friends and me were exploring, exping in Feerott near CT entrance...killing everything in site easily...We see a ^^ Construct Magus or something like that that cons blue to me...So naturally we pull.. First he chain stunned/stifled me so it was a few moments before even getting a good set of taunts on him...before he turned on the Fury and splat one shotted her....then back to me and hit me for 3500+ with something called Nil Distortion. That was the first time in this game ive felt like a true paper tank...What is Nil Distortion...some ubah nuke i presume. Is there anyway to avoid/resist it? Could a Enchanter, etc shut him down?

Sulon the Cheese thinks he's a wizard. And he's a joke. Super Sulon (tm) thinks he's a warlock, and has turned many a surprised group into shards. (I particularly liked the time he devestated the entire group twice (3800 on the poor fury) between chain nil distorting me. Probably could have won but 1sec/tick aoe dots were a bit much). Forget player caster balance, I'd just love to see some mob caster balance! Varity is the spice of debt thought I guess.

Ok so essentially best way to deal with these mobs is to STAY THE [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] away from them... =P Got it...i can do that =P

I have a belt one of our jewelers made me just for big fights where poison resist is needed, 400 makes a big difference.

100 Poison resist per level of the mob wiill keep you from getting splatted.

level 40 mob, 4000 poison resist will keep you from getting destroyed. If it's level 52, 5200 minimum, and more if it's a raid mob.

Since I picked up resist gear, potions and form groups properly, I hardly ever get one shotted any more, and those 20k Nil's Devastation's now only hit for 2-3k

ok quick question, how on earth do you get poison resist so high please? even with a dirge and normal resist jewellery and reist potions im only just nbudging 3k at level 50. I must be seriously doing something wrong here

On AL our tank group usually has at least 2 of the following: warlock, dirge, or mystic, all can buff your poison resist, read the stuff listed above in regards to items with poison resist it does work I whined about not surviving nil on arch and other nasty mobs and I can now with ease...The warlock gives the biggest jump in poison resist btw.

On a related note, Im starting to encouter nil-distortion and other big hitters from mobs and about to start investing in some poison resist gear. Just curious as to what other types of resist gear I should be getting? All ideally, but if you were to put them in order of importance to a tank - from a Raid MT point of view i guess, what would it be?

Depends on your gear setup.. AC is really important to me, so I dont like to mess with my body armor, especially the fabled parts. I try to twink jewelery first.. so far I can put pr in every jewelery slot but rings (haven't found one yet)... still never enough PR. HR and CR seem easier to buff with the right classes.

I've found the mobs that I need PR for, I can handle a few less AC, and not get owned.

I've only fought a few mobs that have very high damage output from melee. Most damage I take is from spells/AE's

For instance, vs Arch Lich, I will put full PR gear because even with it on, he can't melee that much harder.

vs Tremblar, his melee is a joke, and if I can get to 6000 PR my gear doesn't take a single % damage from his AE.

I would never switch to resist gear vs Darathar however.
