Just FYI, this rant would probably be better served by posting it on the Items and Equipment board. Really doesn't have much to do with the Guardian Class.

As far as price, that's supply and demand. If something is good, lots of people want it, and the price goes up. If it is crap, no one buys it and the price goes down.

You also don't need to buy a new item for every single slot the instant you hit 30. Get one or two good pieces now, save some more and buy another piece or two. Money comes faster as you gain levels. At 28 I though feysteel was impossibly expensive. Now I have enough to get some pieces, but I already invested in feyiron and attuned it as soon as I leveled. I could buy a feysteel chest now, but the I would loose the money i spent on the imbued feyiron. So rushing into buying gear may come back to bite you.

And on a final note, who the hell cares if it matches? Are you a guardian or a runway fashion model? If appearence is so important as to hurl you into a flying rage (as indicate by your post) maybe you want to trade in your EQII for Barbie Online? Upgrade that metal protective suite for some satin teddys in soft pastels?

Everything about EQ2 Armor choices just plain sucks period. Its essentially broken down into 5 looks... Your T1 look, Your T2 look, Your T3 look, Your T4 look and your T5 look. Each of those looks is identical and shared amongst 6 classes. Doesnt matter if its dropped, quested or crafted its all the same for each tier. At level 20 I looked exactly the same as every level 20-29 Cleric, Warrior and Crusador and At level 50 Ill look the same as every level 40-50 Cleric, Warrior or Crusador. Look wise EQ2 armor is the worst ive seen in any game. Then there is the cookie cutter pluses to stats of armor. All helms have same stats, all gloves have same stats, all leg, ....etc. Occasionally there is the one piece that deviates but 99% of the time your stat "ratio/distribution" is already predefined for you. Same is true for shields....The T1 shield, T2, T3, etc. To me the most dissappointing aspect of EQ2 has been with the horrid artwork in terms of armor, weapons and with the uniform cookie cutter design of armor stats. Its extremely hard to "fine tune" your character or to be even the slightlest bit unique. Oh and this isnt a Guardian topic per say it pertains to everyone.

Make sure you are buying at the peak selling times

number of crafters on your server versus the number of people needing that type of armor.

and give the game time come on its been out ages

Game released in November.
Clothing doesn't look good until your guild dings 25/30 and you buy the "roleplaying" clothes and there's no way your gonna tank wearing an opulant female fress - although I'm very tempted.

Yes it does suck and it needs something like dyes or different looks for different races, I mean you'd think that would exist with the graphics that some of the stuff in this game has, the game's still new give it time I'm sure they'll be new looks with the new expansions, there we're a few with the first adventure pack (I think). And um relax!

There are not many models for the armour.

1.) Robe A - you can /show hood on this.

2.) Robe B - you cannot /show hood for this one.

3.) Generic A - This includes Leather, Chain and plate - not seen a cloth one but i am sure there is. Heavy AQ is included in this, Brigadine armour uses this model, Leather like Gawars and i think the light AQ. Lots and lots of other armours use this model also. Included in this are the oven gloves.

4.) Generic B - This includes Cloth, Plate - not sure on chain, and includes leather. This has a colar, like the Vanguard Breastplate - Lots of cloth and leather has this look, though the sets use other models to finish the set as leather Vanguard vambraces would look stupid.

The most unique armour is Vanguard piece for piece - but you see everyone wearing it, the other models are used more but has by the loos more textures for cloth/chain/leather on per piece etc.

Throw in some unique things on the city merchants, i can only see TWO sets of armour and TWO robes.

Not much is it really.

Braellar

Have fun in WoW. The game blows. I came from WoW and it was the biggest disappointment to ever hit the MMORPG world. Only reason ppl play that is because they want to PvP or have no concept of how to play these games.
I second "armor". in true democratic fashion I say majority rules. more of us than them. american english > english english

An even better idea would be to take this topic over on the armorsmith forums. The reason you can only find 2 types of heavy player crafted t4 armor (feyiron/feysteel) is because that's all we can make atm. Hell they won't even give us multiple styles for the pieces.

There is 2-4 different looking armor sets on each tier roughly. Some are heavily priced some are not. T4 for example you have feyiron and I think feysteel looks same.. then there is at least silvril and couple random parts. For tier5 fulginate/ebon&rubicite/orclord and then some random pieces + fabled stuff. So there is few choices allthough not many.
