Countering the big nukes

<DIV>Just a question a couple nights ago we we're going after the Arch Lich in the fyremyst gully epic and we got the pleasure of getting Nil Distortion on both of our runs at him and my question is does anyone have any advice on counter this, my group was pretty much set up to deal with the poison resist, we had myself, a temp, warden, mystic, dirge, and a warlock.  My poison resist ended up around 4.8k and I survived the first few nils then all the sudden I got blasted for 11474 (with about 9k hp's and my vs poison buffs we're still up) so I had no chance, anyone have any successful strategies with this or do the other guilds out there just say screw it when Nil is drawn on a big epic fight?</DIV>

<P>Use stuns. Put palys and Monks to stun and interrupt him BEFORE he uses the nukes. If you look at him you can see when hes getting ready to nuke, at that point get your stunners to interrupt. Palys have an AE stun that interrupts all of them. Also, take out the warlock 1st, and then the Healer....Put all your people on Arch Lich and stun interrupt him while your casters kill the warlock and the healer...</P> <P>Enough strat..the rest you have to figure out on your own :smileywink:</P> <P>Uzhiel, lvl 50 Paladin/25 Tailor, Eternal Chaos, Faydark</P>

<DIV>  My old guild always used a stun rotation on him, and basically killed the mage and priest add initially. Honestly though, it doesn't matter, he will get off a distortion type spell at least once, and it has hit me for over 12k before. Get your poison resist gear on. I got it down to around 4k with a warlock in group + resist gear. I think I had my poison resist up to like 4400ish.</DIV>

Lots of ways to deal with them.. the ones mentioned above work.. also you can do the play and pray method.. big nuke only comes 1 in x times.. so if you die, try again, chances are he will eventually not have the big nuke and have a 50 damage nuke :p <div></div>
