I am currently a warrior on my alt, and stuck between Guardian and Zerker. I have read in the Zerker boards that a level 40-50 Zerker can solo single mobs that are 7 levels higher. I have also read they can kill green con ^^ mobs regularily and blue con ^^ mobs with a struggle.

I know that a Guardians are better in raid situations, because they are a better MT's than the Zerkers, althought having a Zerker around for buffs helps quite a bit.

So what I am really asking is can a level 40-50 Guardian solo single mobs 7 levels higher? and solo greenblue con ^^ mobs?

Thanks in advance for replies.

At 50 i can usually solo most green and blud double ups (except maybe lvl 48's or 49's) but i can't find any solo mobs that are 7 levels higher than me anymore :p

good solo abilities against melee mobs, just takes a good while depending on the mob

So at level 50 can you easily solo single lvl 50 mobs? Also I play quite a lot of the time solo, is it easy to get xp? Or slow because the Guardian has quite a low DPS?

Thanks in advance for replies.

Well, it's a little slow just because you're such a high level. But i guess compared to the other classes that can solo at that level it's pretty average or maybe even a bit better.

You can solo any 47 or below double up most likely as long as its not a priest or mage class, but just a warning its slow and painful and for the love of god make sure call of command doesn't fade midfight, named may be different I'm yet to try a blue melee named mob (the 46 sattars in ferrott) broodmother is easy, snowflake (if he's green at 50 do-able at 49), and the named sattar (level 44 one) by cazic thule is do able. As far as casters go the hardest I've tried are the green goblins in lavastorm by the ritualist and squggley and if the sage has nil/dark distortion up don't bother trying just run.

By thier very nature leveling up a guardian will be slower as 1) The Fights DO take longer and 2) Unelss there is a radcial change in the next 10 levels (am 40 atm) caster classes can be deadly.

Message Edited by Tomanak on 04-26-2005 01:22 PM

It's debatable if you get any exp at 50th. I've noticed that your exp bar does NOT fill up, you get no exp message when killing a mob, but your vitality does go down... so who knows if they raise the level cap at 50th will we all suddenly be 50.99, or if we will have to grind it out.

XP over the cap. Maybe it works the same once you hit 50??

I am currently a 44 Guard. I have no problem soloing ^^ blue or green mobs that are a minimum 3 lvls lower then me or lower. When I was 40 I solod Chomper that was ^^ lvl 37. Was a long fight and I was down to 20 % health but was fun. At 44 I was able to solo a single lvl 49 mob. Honestly though if you want quicker XP and more fun try and stick with ^^ mobs or Heroic groups of 3 or 4. Much better XP then just killin solo mobs and sometimes better chest drops. My best advice to you is this.... Be sure to buff up good or make sure your buffs will last thru the fight and debuff the mob the best you can early in the fight then try and drain all his power so he doesnt have the chance to land as many of his special attacks.

Drozan

44 Dwarven Guardian

Butcherblock

As of right now, I can solo any Heroic ++ level 48 and under.

After the defense nerf, and other combat changes I don't see that possible.

I am 50 and well equiped, and I can self buff my defense to be approximatly level 55 Defense, making 48 and below technically Grey, and unable to hit me.

However, caster mobs can kill me pretty quick, so I avoid them.

I soloed levels 48-50 in permafrost on the level 46 giants, they couldn't hit me.

I would not be surprised if at 50 your exp is capped in such a way that you can not ding 51 until such time as you get new exp after getting an expansion that allows the advancement. I bet that lvl 50 exp is soft capped at below the requirement for 51. The situations where you can gain exp over and above your current lvl are for situations that exist already in game.

You can't get exp at 50

Your exp bar stays completely empty, but you can burn vitality and pay off exp debt, but that's it
