I've always gone with Stamina for the Stat increases, and you can vary the resist increases. Went for +% to HPs when those rolled around. As far as the racial traits, take the +defense if your race has one, as well as +HPs and +Stamina. The 4th can be anything else you find useful. For the tactics, I went Orc, Ghost, Giant, Goblin, and Lizardman. For the training, it's really up to you. The first two won't last you very long at all if you level with any sort of quickness. Then it's just whatever you feel is good for the other two. I picked up the upgrade to Shouting Cry for level 30 and am still mulling over the level 40 Training options.

Resists you can choose which you like, I went with poison, disease, heat iirc Racial Tratits (as a Barbarian): Defense +5, Cold Resist +3%, Strength +5 (and I chose the Cold proc, a waste ) Specialized Training I always chose the Taunt, Defense Stance or Sta Buff upgrade and am very happy with it. I chose max hp (+2,5%) both times. My reasoning: During raids, I dont need power or regen, we got other classes caring for that. As a Tank I need the 200 extra hp to survive before the heal lands About Enemy Mastery... Doesnt matter much since it is a long recast buff and very situationary. Can't [Removed for Content] or make yourself uber with any of them

This is what I am thinking

10 Warrior Training Uthros' Defiant Cry Call to Arms + spell avoidance

18 Ogre Trait Toughened Hide +3 Defense

20 Guardian Training Slate's Protective Stance Soldier's Stance w/lesser attack penalty

26 Ogre Trait War Ready +3% HP

30 Guardian Training Slate's Invigorating Threat Taunting Challenge + mitigation, Separate Timer

34 Ogre Trait Rallosian Conditioning +3 STA

40 Guardian Training Braksan's Desperate Rally Do or Die + mitigation vs crushing

44 Ogre Trait Battlefield Command +3 Defense for party

Other races have different traits, and I have not seen anything regarding which resists are best, if any.

For master rage, you have to pick what you will be fighting, but orc is usefull in comonlands, WC and zek, gnoll is only usefull in antonica and BB

What do you all advise for character traits - the ones that permanently add str/sta/agi etc?

STA imho, but they all easily softcap in a good raid setup. in an XP group you won't be in much danger of dying and might prefer the STR or AGI for additional damage or accuracy. even in a single group these stats can softcap as well. they're really a small difference but I always went STA and would again if I did it over.
