Just out of curiosity, since I never am alone and/or really know how to prove this. What is our base mitigation on Heavy right now pre-TU7? As of whenever the changes to live that were introduced to test, our base is 35% pre-buffs (if any exist).

Well mitigation is based solely off Armor, so if you take all your armor off in game and jewelry you get your base mitigation.

Mine when naked is 1.7% mitigation lol. So when you strip of after LU#7 it will be 35%, but how there going to fix Mitigation to scale is more then likely going to be capped because the amout of times they have adjusted things now there just getting sloppy and lazy and capping things instead. If they dont cap Mitigation they would have to go through the entire Heavy armor class and rebalance the mitigation values on every single peice or armor to fall in line with the 35% base value we will get after LU#7.

Message Edited by -Aonein- on 04-15-2005 07:24 PM

Base of 35 sounds close.. base as in fulginate or something.. with [Removed for Content] gear base mitigation (no buffs) is 56.7%...

How I read it is... By equipping a suit of HA (any suit), it will give you a mitigation total of 35% for that suit of armor. Further increases are given through buffs alone.

nahh not at all.. base is base gear.. prolly crappiest gear around. better gear will raise it, as well as buffs.

TB, buddy I hope you're right. Because being put at 35% and maybe buffing to 40% or so is going to be crazy. We need to be able to hit about 45-55% consistently in order to make it. Especially because our parry buffs are now useless, and quite possibly they will downgrade how defensive skills play in the overall scheme. *crosses fingers*

Well I also think at some point defense will help mit and not avoid. So when we get 320 defense, that will be a HUGE mit bonus. I wouldn't mind a bit if a level 1 mob hit me every time, for 1 damage.. long as we mitigate a crapload, the more hits the better reactive heals work and the less spikey we are

Message Edited by TunaBoo on 04-15-2005 05:24 AM

Naw, decided it was pointless and counter-productive to post have-baked assumptions without any kind of evidence to back them up.

Message Edited by Xebed on 04-15-2005 12:06 PM

IMO it has to be based on some baseline gear set for each given tier. Buffs and better quality amor build on top of the baseline 35%. My guess is it goes something like this: for example im using common crafted gear as the baseline. On a level 50 tune...with all full set of Fulginate his base mitigation comes to 35% against a level 50 mob. Swtich to full set of Ebon would be along the lines of 35% + <whatever advantage high quality armor gives>. It could also simply mean that Higher quality armor just shifts that con level...i.e A level 48 in ebon would mitigation 35% against a level 50 mob. If its true and depending on how messed up they make the CAPS it would still leave little advantage to using higher quality gear. Just my therories...I like the fact that SOE gives us info I just wonder if no-info would be better than vague info that only leaves us wanted better info =P
