<DIV>Has anyone else noticed that our abilities that do damage-over-time were nerfed? My cleave used to do 135dmg a tick at level 48, now it does 87dmg per tick. My Ferocious Charge used to have a 35dmg per tick and now it does 24dmg a tick. Have other people noticed this? Are there any other negative changes?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks devs for making us do even less damage.</DIV>

<P>oh hush, you will be what you are... a [Removed for Content] meat shield, thats what you signed up for, they are pushing it with allowing yall to duel wield and you know it...</P> <P>Im always an advocate for imbalance and run amock classes, but i dont like to hear </P> <DIV> <FONT color=#cc0000>Are there any other negative changes?</FONT> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cc0000>Thanks devs for making us do even less damage.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats just assanine!!!! Im not trying to flame ya here... but some stuff just cant fly right now with all the tanking hoopla going on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>you should want to do as little dps as possible to sustain your role that you are given. </DIV></DIV>

I feel soo..... dirty. Dunno about the all but invincible at higher levels part though. Gonna have to call BS there. Unless you mean the little buff stacking issue, and as we all should know, that applies to everyone. </span><div></div>

They allowed resists to effect tick effects asheman. Its stated in the patch notes. This effects all dot effects not just guardians. Also look at it in the other way. You can now mitigate mob dot effects too. even though its not seen on your persona slashing/crushing/piercing abilites also have resistances/mitigation too. If you get one of the custom ui's you will clearly be able to see this. <p>Message Edited by Dracoviolet on <span class=date_text>04-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:13 PM</span>

<P>yeah, the stacking issue reference, till they fix it however the propose to do so... </P> <P> </P> <P>EDIT: but just an FYI, there are some guardians that have enough gear and stats so that with the right raid build do become invincible. heard of a guardian reaching 303 defense on my server... dont know how true it is, but hey... he does have almost a full set of master chest and a great guild...but still just hearsay)</P> <p>Message Edited by SageMarrow on <span class=date_text>04-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:17 PM</span>

<P>Thanks Draco,</P> <P>I was hoping someone with some knowledge would reply. It's so sickening to see flames from monks on my post intended for Guardians.</P>

<P>If every guardian in EQ2 lived by that principle that we wanted to deal out no damage and not be able to hold aggro we would have created pallies...</P> <P>Just out of curiosity what is the "norm" for DP's I'm just curious what others are parsing at</P>

<div></div>Yeah nerfs are no fun, but uh, i cant really complain about this one... When i picked Guardian as a class i didnt do it so i could deal alot of damage. Nerfs are too bad, but, i pretty much already needed dps classes in a group to have quick kills anyway, so, it really doesnt change all that much.. Oh and considering they changed our broken haste line to give the haste it was intended to, we gained dps in other ways /shrug <div></div><p>Message Edited by TheMeatShield on <span class=date_text>04-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:53 PM</span>

<DIV>personally i dont think this is a nerf. this changes balanced the damage deal from DoTs. Resistance werent supposed to only Hit or Miss, just like your melee dmg not Max or 0. AC and Resistance supposed to absorb some dmg. not only affecting Players, it affect Mobs too!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>just my 2cp <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
<P>I also noted a decrease in DPS. I use a parser most of the time when i play ( i use it to identify those DPSers in group that are lazy)</P> <P>Before patch i had hit about 100dps vs a boss mob i kill on regular basis. After patch i was at 60dps.</P> <P>But... this might not have to do with decreasing guardian DPS since i heard they also fixed som of the mobs resistances</P> <P> </P> <P>/Armor K, 48 guard</P>

<DIV>Nice shizzirri, not one Paladin came in this board and yet you bring us into it. I'm sorry, but get your facts straight. I can out DPS you any day of week, no matter what weapon you use. U could be dual wielding 2 prismatics if SoE let you, and I would STILL do more DPS than you. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please dont bring Paladins into this mix. Can you take more damage? probably. Can you out-DPS us? heh. Right now only bruisers and monks can out-dps us, after the SoE berserker nerf.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Uzhiel, lvl 50 Paladin, Eternal Chaos, Faydark.</DIV><p>Message Edited by uzhiel feathered serpent on <span class=date_text>04-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:52 AM</span>

<DIV>*Shrug* First, everyone says we aren't supposed to be the best tank class. Then, when our damage is nerfed (others words not mine), the same people come in and say, "Your damage should be nerfed, you are a meat shield not damage." You people confuse me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally nothing in the patch notes really got to me... though it would have been nice for most things at least to have been patched correctly. Waiting for more patches in the coming days to fix what broke or wasn't fixed in the big patch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grondax Ix'Thania of the Shard</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Member of Genesis on Highkeep</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Level 50 Guardian / Level 49 Woodworker</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Server First Discovery for the Prismatic Longsword</DIV>
Everyone is waiting on LU#7. That will be the make or break it update for EQ2. Its the first round of the huge rebalancing, and it will be interesting to see if they abandon the Archtype and go for speciailisation of subclass.

I'll put that one down in the "Pro's" column for Specialization of sub-Class. <div></div>

If you look at the game dynamics you will realize they have been implementing a specialized tank system from the start of the game. All the plate classes have specific mitigations for certain types dmg. While I initially didnt think this was true but mobs do varied types of dmg. A good example of this is most spider mobs. Guardians get extra crushing and slashing buffs. Spiders however commonly do piercing/poison based attacks. This is but one example. If you looked throughout the mob population you we see many examples like this. this example gives context to what moorgard said about all tanks being able to tank but not equally in all situations. If you look at class balance as all classes being = it will mean you have 6 classes and a bunch of oddballs. If you look at class balance as all classes will be equally viable it adds diversity and flavor to the game. For diversity in a game to be successfull you must have a game enviroment that supports each of the differances. EQ2 is filled with them. While it is not entirely balanced at this time I have confidence it will be.<p>Message Edited by Dracoviolet on <span class=date_text>04-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:37 AM</span>

They should be fixing the content to provide the balance of "equal yet different" among the subclasses not trying to nerf everything to the point of having clones like Gage is advocating. Its already in the game to certain degree...there have been many mobs/encounters ive tanked that afterwards I found myself saying...wow that would have been alot smoother if a monk had tanked it, etc. Or saying..."geez forget cleric or druid we needed a shaman to heal against that mob". </span><div></div>
