<DIV>Although so many threads about mitigation vs. avoidance are around, I haven't seen actual values being posted. I mean the percent number that is displayed when you hover your mouse pointer over the mitigation value in the persona window. Given the claim that mitigation is not good enough currently, I would love to see some examples for different levels (and classes).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For a good laugh (of you guardians here), my main (lvl 30 conjuror) has a mitigation value of about 550, which means 18.5% damage of a hit done by a lvl 30 mob is mitigated (this can help explain why mages go down so quickly when hit <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. For my (lvl 17) warrior alt I think it was a similar value for mitigation, but I can't recall the percentage of damage mitigated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

From what ive been able to tell...assuming your gear is level appropriate our mitigation hovers around 48-50% unbuffed against even con mobs regardless of level...so at level 39 with white gear its 48-50% against level 39 mobs...at level 45 with white gear it will most likely still be 48-50% against level 45 mobs. As gear goes blue->green>grey mitigation % against even con mobs will go down...not because the gear itself got worse per say but rather because it is no longer level appropriate and your level has gone up. <div></div>

<DIV>Do you mean that a piece of armor that is white to me, and has Mitigation of 100 is actually more mitigation than a piece of armor that is green to me and also has Mitigation of 100?</DIV>

<P>No.</P> <P>A piece of armor that is white or less with a mitigation value of 100 is not as good as a piece of armor yellow or orange with a mitigation value of 100.</P> <P>The yellow and orange pieces will continue to increase in value until they turn white.</P>

Let me see if i can explain how i think this all works differently: -Lets assume you are level 39 and ALL your gear is WHITE and your mitigation shows 50% against level 39 mobs. -Now you go DING 40. -Now ALL your gear is BLUE...now your mitigation is gonna show something less than 50% against level 40 mobs but is actually still 50% against the now lower level 39 mobs. </span><div></div>

mitigation, % mitigated of a lvl 50 mob 2897 = 57.9% 3541 = 70.8% 3800 = 76.0% 4000 = 80.0% 4400 = 88.7% 5300 = ? I had 5300+ mitigation last night for Darathar when hero's armor was up but didn't get a chance to check what the mitigation was. I assume it just shows 100%. Darathar being lvl 58 was still able to hit me a bit though. <div></div>

Thanks for the answers, so it looks that a plate tank like a guardian usually will take only 50% of the damage from a hit, and less with top armor/buffs. Thats not as high mitigation as was commonly thought, but the higher numbers with better armor/buffs probably balance this out. <div></div>
