Shield Avoidance and Shield Con

<DIV>I found this interesting. When I leveled a couple of nights ago, My shield dropped from blue to green con and I noticed that the reported avoidance % given by the shield dropped. This seems like a good argument for keeping your shield up to level.</DIV>

<P>Did you check the effect it had on your % to block?  If your base avoidance is higher the effects of blocking and parrying will be shrunk since there are already less attacks getting through.</P> <P>Based on my testing, it appears item cons don't change the mitigation or other benefits the items provide.  The con of the items is meaningless and is just a guide... as it should be.</P>
