I have read over alot of the DW, S&B, and 2H posts throughout the guardian area. I currently use the S&B but 1 thing I have read is that there are a few that carry 1 type of slashing, crushing, and piercing weapon in their inventory. Now I can understand how different NPC's are effected by different types of attack, but w/o having to try each until I see what effects the NPC is there a rule of thumb? Such as: if it has flesh more then likely slashing will effect it, if it is bone or uses a hard exo-skeleton then crushing, and if it is elemental or phantasmic then piercing will effect it?TIA

Trial and error my friend. Another reason I D/W .. In new encounters I have a pierce in one hand and slash in the other if I dont see any slashing hits on the mob but see pierce hitting it I will switch my slash to a pierce. Other than that you will just have to trade weapons every 3 seconds to you nail what will hit the mob.

<DIV>I just use my best of the best damage and stat weapons for general exp mobs, and I have my back ups of pierce slash and bash for raid content, or immune mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>N'Kzak the Unatural for instance is immune to Slashing damage, therefore I'll switch weapons.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The 4 FBSS mobs used to be immune to certain damages, but thier immunities were removed, and they were beefed up instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone else have a database of mob immunities? Would be a good thread to sticky in here.</DIV>

you dont even start seeing mob immunities till like 40+ and beyond, before that - no need to worry. the same weapon hits a skele that hits a golem that hits a ghost that hits a beetle..

That becomes a concern mostly on nameds and raid type mobs cYphin but you still want to have one of each type of weapon and skill up for the future.

<div></div>Good information =) Yes since this post I seriousily started running D/W...getting away from the S&B, which I HAVE found I control mobs for the most part and do damage across the board =) Now on a side note, something I noticed with mobs (and excuse me if this is a noob wittness) is when one is killed the other mob members branch off to each of my other group members and I have to re-initiate agro to each again. This is unless I keep a 2 sec count -to-hit for each in the mob. At which point if one dies they are all beaten to orange/red they dont split up on my group members....any adds on this and/or is this just a coincidence? <div></div><p>Message Edited by cYphin on <span class=date_text>03-22-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:49 AM</span>

<P>depends on what you are fighting, some mobs are bugged and go off in every direction after you kill one- thats just a bug, nothing that you are doing wrong.</P> <P>stick to the same ole formula of taunt, attack, switch as needed, taunt. and you will be great </P>

I never lose aggro on an encounter once I establish it unless I do something stupid or im tired and start making mistakes. I use a Shield and slashing (though I keep a crushing in case of iummunity).</span><div></div>
