<DIV>Well when u do htl the point is to increase hate lik crazy.  if u lose hate on 1 creature thingy w/e u call it and lets see it attacks the mage or healer etc..... u should not be cancelling ur htl becuase ur mage / healer is haulin [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] away from u... shouldnt the mage/healer run right up to u so u can concentrate hard aggro on that creature... ? correct me if im wrong <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

a) People who run from the group are on their own anyways. Most guides these days include that advise, "Do not run from your group." So when people run from you, you let them die (or yell at them to come back), and afterwards do your leadership thing, and gently explain to them, why it is better to stick together. If they run, - they stop doing their job, weakening the group. - they leave the range of their healers and tanks (the heal and taunt might already be in the works). - they might trigger additional aggro.b) You do not have to be in melee range to get aggro. Your taunts have range, and you can use buffs to add aggro, too. I have yet to pass level 20, but I can think of very few reasions, why your group should be spread out too far for your taunts to reach every group member. If your casters stay miles from your group for whatever reason, they need some yell.. erm, talking to. c) Your Mage or Healer should not get any aggro anyways. If they do keep getting aggro, they might have to learn they hard way (i.e. let them die), that there must be no nuking before the tank has secured aggro.greetz,Lu.

<DIV>for myself in day to day playing i dont use htl much because we dont usually camp a spot and are consatntly moving around and clicking it off is a (minor admittedly) annoyence for me</DIV>

People complain about having to click-off HTL because of one simple reason: exp debt.If they removed experience debt, then there would be NO issue with having to click-off HTL. If some freakboy group member gets aggro.. great, let them die.But the fact that other members of the group will then suffer 2-3% experience debt because of ONE player's stupidity... it makes for conditions that unfairly cast the need for the tank to break their self-root and go chasing after the ninny running off with aggro in hopes to save exp debt... if possible.

I don't click off hold the line. It's very easy to NOT get aggro from a tank doing his job right. So, when it does happen to me, let em get hit. They'll learn real quick what NOT to do. As for exp debt.....who cares, it'll disappear overnight anyway.

I find that H.T.L is not really a problem for me and my groups. I just simply explain what the ability is so the rest of group knows about it.(advanced knowledge is always good) The MT is gonna be the center of the group activity because that is where the mobs will be. As mentioned above those who do not listen will simply die. Of course it also comes down to how the MT positions the group in any given zone. Smarter positioning =less acts of "OMG I can't believe they did that" H.T.L. is one of our best skills and will not stop being used anytime soon.
