View Full Version : It seems to me that the EQ1 Warrior has been spilt into two halves: Guardians and Berzerkers

<DIV>It seems to me (and trust me I have no idea what I'm talking about) that the awesome warrior that was in EQ1 has been split into two halves in EQ2: the guarding and AC half, and the damage and taunting half. It would seem to me that the optimum group would have a guardian and a bezerker, because they would compement each other, and THAT would lead me to beleive that the mobs after 20 hit REALLY HARD and one "tank" in a group would die rather quickly without a secondary backing him up or vice versa. I would think there has also been a corresponding either slight lowering of the mobs hit points, or strengthening of the healing capabilities of players. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>tank HP/AC + group healing + group damage = mob HP/AC + mob healing (optional) + mob damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But like I said, I don't know what I'm talking about - this is the first time I've played a warrior, and he's only lvl 16, and I never even played a warrior in EQ1. It seems like SOE really put some thought into this stuff, and we're NOT putting any into it, just slamming it because it's not like EQ1? </DIV>

not really. I can tank totally fine as a guardian and hold aggro perfectly with a single healer on yellow ^^ group mobs at 29 (or red mobs if we fight them). Zerkers that are well equiped can do similarly. The guardian skills help but dont' really matter as the guardian is just taking a slot a healer, chanter, or dps could better utilize. But the guardian/zerker combo does work sometimes (mainly if the zerker is higher level/equiped and tanking while guardian is assisting).<p>Message Edited by GenesisForgoten on <span class=date_text>12-10-2004</span> <span class=time_text>07:09 AM</span>

<DIV>Any tank can fill the tank role (fighter / brawler / crusder types) and imo you only need 1.  However a second (ALL tanks get guarding skills) can save your healer some power by guard buffing your Main Tank. Guardian just gets a few more of those buffs than other tanks (in theory).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When grouping I tend to run around with a brawler guarding me (guardian) and we do fine. 1 or 2 healers with us, depending on whos on, rest of the group is DPS classes usually, again depending whos on. We do fine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My main beef with the game atm is stuff spawning on our heads while fighting. its way too common imo hehe.</DIV>
